[Road trip suggestions required]

I have just retired and am planning a road trip up the NSW coast departing from Port Stephens. 

Initial plan is to stop at the following: Forster, Harrington, Port Macquarie, SW Rocks, Coffs Harbour, Yamba, Ballina and Tweed Heads. 

Any other suggestions of must fish locations?

I bought a downrigger form the US and have not had any problems, there are a lot of reputable dealers out there, try #$#$#$.

[Downrigger problems]

Every time I use my downrigger the fishing line ends up wound around the downrigger cable. I am using live yakkas as bait.

Any suggestions?

First ever fresh water session at the Sandy Hook area of the Cox River on Saturday, managed to catch this nice trout.

No problems with any functions except units , meters and Celcius are not menu options. Comes with coastline but I have loaded a navionics chart card for more detail

I bought a Humminbird 798 a couple of years aog and have had no issues. Be aware though that it will NOT display depth in metres or temp in celcius.
