  1. Gday Johnny,

Yeah I agree with Gee....there is a tonne of knowledge that comes from the many specialist fishos on "The Raider" and oodles of ideas for us all to learn something.

Welcome aboard and keen to hear of your successes, especially in and around the land traps of the Georges River.

    Cheers

    The Fella

  2. Is there any wonder why we are jealous of you Glenn??? A winters day and look at the backdrop....absolutely sensational mate. With a playground like that.....just being out there is a pleasure!!! Cheers Glen

  3. Well done Jeff....would have been an awesome afternoon out there today. Doesn't matter that only 2 out of 8 kingies were legal bud, it's the thrill of catching the buggers. Excellent day out mate.....Regards Glen

    Hi all,

After using the advise from fellow raiders, we had a bucket of yakkas ready for the peak. The yakkas were caught at Moll Point.

Hit the peak around 11am in a stiff easterly with a bit of chop on the water. Livies go down and we start jigging, and jigging and jigging until our arms are sore. No luck on the jig front, even though we see activity on the sounder. One on our mates lands a keeper kingie on the first drop of the yakka, but thats it for the next hour. We keep drifting over the peak and persist jigging whilst having the livies out, still nothing on the jig but we finally get some action on the livies and a couple of rats come on board. We give up jigging and start using slabs of fresh slimies and some salted slimies. The action picks up and the slimey baits are working. All up landed 8 kingies, but only 2 legal. Also a decent Morwong. Most caught on slimey baits, a couple on live yakkas and zip on the jig.

Also saw others landing rat kingies and bonito.

By around 2pm the wind died down and the conditions are fantastic.

Off the water by 5pm. All in all a good days fishing.

    Sorry no pics. Next time.

Will prob try long reef next time, after reading the reports from today

    Jeff

  4. Hi All....FWAFF63 is my name (which stands for Fella With A Fishing Fetish) and with 63 being the year I was born, yes I am pushing the darker side of the 40's.

The thing that gives me such a buzz about Fishraider is when people say they have been fishing since their adolescence and there is a real demonstration of passion in their stories. This also leaves me with a feeling of jealousy, as I know the "Salt Water Gods" have not blessed me with such favourable conditions in my life.

I have only been fishing with my mates for the past 3 years (give or take a month or two). We do make the most of every opportunity and usually head via boat towards the Hawkesbury River area, or on land wherever we can.

I am new to the soft plastics side of things and only had a brief dabble, preferring to stick to the fresh stuff. I hope to be able to gain further experience with the SP's.

As I am extremely new to the site and the fishing game in general, I hope to gain many tips and enjoy the yarns, laughs and passionanate stories that continue to lighten up the site.

    HAPPY FISHING ALL..... :1fishing1:

    Cheers

    Glen

the fish is kawahagi, in english Thread-sail filefish

If you click around the site, daiwa even has specialised gear for it.

Apparently they eat them sashimi, don't think i'll do the same locally

Hey Musty.....Tan the Fisherman's partner in Criminology here!!! Yeah, I tried to log onto the link as well but now video streaming happened; so as I cannot speak the language, I could not navigate either  Cheers FWAFF63 (Glen)
