  1. mate i live in lake macquarie we get heaps of bream on mullet strips and we use floating baits ( no sinkers) in shallow water, the only time we use sinkers is in the channel or dropover its a big lake best of luck

  2. mate i live in the lake macquarie area been getting plenty of fish if want tailor try coal point ,rathmines area dark or early morning, bream flathead try pulbah island area ,the salmon have just entered the system caught two in the past week one near pulbah island one the eastern end of the lake at speers point its a big lake but i hope this helps

  3. xmas time is a hard time with lots of boats and people about try some of the lest popular beaches like dudley and nine mile , stockton and blacksmiths breakwalls are worth a try but early. hopefully with good tides, nobbys breakwall where you can fish the harbour one side and the beach on the other is worth a try with live worms but early before the n/e winds get up there are others but you need a boat good luck

  4. took a few mates out in the boat over easter in lake macquarie had a great day caught fish & crabs , but one of the catches was a 38 cm whiting caught on mullet, i am thinking the pickers cleaned the flesh up and the whiting took the skin although i am not sure, so has anyone else caught a whiting on something like this thanks

  5. you have made a good move , i live in lake macquarie/ newcastle area, the first thing you have to do is follow the newcastle knights :yahoo: stockton beach is good , newcastle harbour is a great jewfish spot, there lots of breakwalls to fish from and plenty of beaches, lake macquarie is the biggest saltwater lake in the southern hemishere there is no pro netting and big flathead ,bream ,whiting are there, also you have the power outlets which produce good fish too,if fresh water fishing is your game they are not far away either ,fresh water rivers are half an hour away ,lake st clair ,glen bawne dams are 1 to 1.5 hours away ,life is good

  6. Hi Randel,

Scrubbies are found at the base of trees in the earth and you will see the trees that house them with holes in the trunk and normally there will be sawdust or shavings present.

Scrape away the earth near the roots and you will see them easily and yes they are top bait for all native fish, especially bass.

    Cheers Stewy

thats the type of answer i am after , i live in lake macquarie even though there is plenty of salt water fishing here ,fresh water fishing is not far away ,if you read
