  1. Howdyy All,

Its been a while... but with computer issues, and renovations now seeming to settle ( for now ), i have found the time to sit down and catch up on 1534 posts that i have missed...

( the :wife: is gonna love me ) .....

So, with the 5 day EXTRA long weekend :yahoo: ahead for most of us, whats the weather going to hold?

Seem's to be a decent amount of fish about from what i have read so far so i can't wait to get amongst it!!

We are heading up to Forster for the 5 days camping with 5 other families so will be a blast regardless if the "BOYS" wet a line or not...

Have never been there, nor has anyone that we are going with fished there. The boats are staying at home ( as i sold mine ( Nudge Nudge Huett's ) but will update later this year and we wouldn't have got all on if we had the 3 boats anyways )

So i have packed the 6", 8" and the 15" ( which should cover it all land based ) :biggrin2:

Will be fishing the beachs mainly late evening into the night and early mornings whilst the kids are asleep and the hand brakes are  and gass baggin :biggrin2:

Any tips or spots would be a great help and if your heading up that way, give me a holler!!

Tight lines and safe driving to everyone travelling over the weekend!

BE SMART, BE SAFE, BE SEEN!!

I'm hearing ya! Had it all set, boat loaded, new burley mixes set and ready for trial run then..... we decide to buy a company on Thurs that is close to receivership... At this stage i am "PENCILED" in :ranting2::ranting2::ranting2::ranting2::ranting2:

  3. The joys of Oysters... :biggrin2:

One of my best friends parent's ownes an oyster lease up at Port Stephens ( makes for great fishing trips.. oh and appitisers... ) apart from the "tumbled washed " oysters which are smooth, i remeber 1 time his old man was bringing some up and a " rock " of oysters decided it wanted to head south back into the water before being brought into the boat.. my mates old man being who he is, and our own natrual human reaction, he decided to pull "Gillchrist" and catch the rock only to end up berlying for sharks!!

Was funny at the time but his hand ended up some what similar to yours... ( i was stunned actually at the time )

Eat up mate, revenge is sweet!!! :074:

  5. Still making their way up to the M4 bridge and beyond.. :biggrin2::074:

Give it another 2 - 4 weeks and you should start having some fun ( normally you can catch the smaller ones around the pylons unuder the M4 at this time of year ) but has been quiet i have been advised.

Hoping all this rain gives it a nice flush out and stirr up!

Hope to catch ya down there some time!

  6. Joe,

The bass are slowly coming up the river and it is definitely worth a shot mate.

Freinds of mine went up the river 2 weeks ago ( Pylons under M4 bridge ) and caught 1 in 2 hours, down the bottom on a spinner bait. ( They tried from top to weir... )

Surface lures and, bibbed lures caught ZAP !

Hope to get out on Sun myself..

  7. to the thief that stole my battery

i curse you to forever have major problems with your boat, i curse you to forever watch other boats pulling in the fish while your esky stays empty.

i'm sure a raider wouldn't do this but i had to vent, this lowlife has now ended my fishing for the forseable future.

May the MOFO not have a fuse box, connect the battery wrong and fry his electrics! :ranting2:

  8. You could try ( as a low cost do it yourself thing ) a can of "Carby Clean" ( in a spray can ) this will clean most of the internals in the carby pretty thouroughly, and get rid of any deposits in it. Simple to use. ( This may sound crazy but i used to pour water into mine slowly whilst running ( giving her a boot full of revs ) to clean the carby and internals.. Was told this by and old mechanic. I never had a problem.

Could be the fuel mixture setting has moved/worked its way in/out, don't know what carby it is but if its a larger one like a 650dpp or 850dpp ( Holley ) can be fun setting it but sounds like its flooding a little under low revs and under full throttle when the butterflies fully open, it sucks out all the fuel causing no spluttering.

    Just my thoughts.

  9. Raiders, we are off to Lake Macquarie on Friday for a few days, staying at Pelican so close to the channel. I have my tinny and the electric ready to go - now, where do i start...any feedback wld be appreciated.

My initial plan was to fish the bridge and channel, then get out to the west side of pullbah island - mainly flicking for flatties. any more thoughts would be awesome...thanks

I'm heading up with wife, kid and another couple to Blacksmiths Point on Friday to stay for the long weekend also..

I was going to try the above but also going to try in between Coal Point & Cane Point and along the edges of Hartley,Green and Cardiff Point.

I'm going to have a crack land based on the entrance of the inlet ( somewhere between the 3rd & 4th red bouy )

If you see the Stessl in my pic, gimme a holler or send me a PM. Would be good to meet another raider.
