  1. Okay well at the moment I have come up with a few options:

    - Daiwa Spellbinder 4-8kg + Shimano Stradic FJ 3000

    - Shimano Raider 4-8kg + Daiwa Freams 3000

    - Shimano Barra Spin 5-10kg + Daiwa Sol 3000

each of the above combos can be switched ie: spellbinder + sol etc...

Anyone has some suggestions about these options? Thanks for all the help by the way!

    mate,

Do yourself a favour, go to a shop with all those rods & reels put them together & feel the weight of them.

Then put a Stradic Ci4 or Rarenium Ci4 on one of the rods & you will see the difference.

if your casting all day the extra weight will take its toll by the end of the day.

    cheers

  2. If you have the patience and time. Save up and get a stella or a saltiga. You won't regret it.

I was at my local store & guy had returned his salina II for warranty

    repairs for the third time.

So I would say "If you have the time & patience" buy a Salina

  3. I am curious to see which engine would be trouble free ( I doubt there would be any )

Now this would hard to measure.

A 10hr young engine (should be trouble free) & so should 200hr engine

There is just too many variables outside the normal service schedule that could influence

    a failure.

My recommendation would be to talk to a number of Mechanics about any or all of the minor & major

failures that occur with all brands.

    I hope this helps

  4. 20lb braid

    30lb leader

    Are you trolling or casting

    take a varitey of depths

    3'+ & 10'+ in classic barra

    Squidgy slick Rig Pro

    80mm & 110mm

    Drop Bear, Evil Minnow

I can tell you all of these caught me barra from 50cm - 73cm

When casting you need to work the lure as slow as possible with the odd twitch.

  5. mate,

you need to consider how much weight is in the boat aswell,

maybe the prop pitch may be another option.

I had a 15hp on my 3.60 tiny (which was very light) I had 2 props for it.

The speed i got was unbelievable from one of them. On my own in a river id pass other boats @ WOT

Id get some strange facial expressions.

Like a few have already mentioned, you need to know what rpm @ WOT

Huey may be the man to speak to.

Mork calling Huey come in Huey :074:

    cheers Zed
