  1. hi all

im pretty new to this forum.usually fish from beaches and any decent shore line.a mate

just bought a 4.5mtre tinnie with a 30hp motor.we try the bay often without much luck.

so i usually try to go out on charters for a fish.been on a few from down cronulla way

bianca charters ,bravo charters.wich are fairly good days out.im trying a new charter

in january from rose bay called christine anne charters, has any been out with them

or heard of them.mainly go reef ,bottom bashing.

does anybody now of any other good charters.

plus when we fish bb we try moli point and only get trevs.where is the

best spot to anchor up there ,right on the edge of the channel or just back from it.

still trying to get that first kinngy but dont seem to have much luck.

anyway any info would be great.thankyou

  2. G'day Riceball,

I finish work at 6pm on Thur (tomorrow.)

Why don't we give the rozelle hospital side a try. How bout we meet at the wharf at Le Montage (the swanky restaurant near city west link bridge) at 6:45pm.

Im Lure fishing but bait works well round that way. Had sucess with bread and chicken fillet.

    Paul

try between the submarine cable sign and the rocks that go out into the water .

if i can get out of going christmas shopping tonite

i might see u guys down there.i will be

bait fishing some worms and pillies might be the go.

only problem i see is with all this rain the water might be a bit murky

and too much fresh water down there..

    doesnt hurt to try anyway

  3. Had a look on the way to work this morning, it's not quite ready yet, and the big surf yesterday hasn't really helped as it's pushed sand up onto the beach. With luck a storm forecast for tomorrow and hopefully smaller surf will see it break (or get broken) by the end of the week.

    Cheers,

    Neil

are there any good gutters there at the moment as i might drive up there tonite after work.

  4. Went and had a look at the entrance to Narra lakes yesterday,

    It looks pretty full

Anybody have an idea when the council will open it up

    More rain all this week

Maybe we need to be on standby for an impromptu Fishraider social for high tide a day or two after it is opened.

    regards POGO

a mate of mine rang the council and was told if the recent rain doesnt open it up they will be opening

it in the next two weeks.

should be great fishing when it opens up.dont forget inspectors will be there in full force

like last year.they booked a heap of fishos

  5. gday all.

im pretty recent to this whole fishing sport. iv gotten into it and been goin pretty much at least 1 time a week for about 3 months now. i have no boat and live in the inner west.

i usually fish at entrance of the georges river into Botany Bay. however i have also fished a few other spots in botany bay. (with no luck). The Cooks River (no luck, and would neva eat from that dirty place but at least its close) and under the iron cove bridge.

id be really keen to try some new spots and techniques. wheter it be the beach of rocks, mangroves at low tide, the harbour where ever. i live in newtown and it would be great to get some spots close by and a few techniques in how to fish them.

thanks for all the great storys iv read on the site, and much more to anyone who offers any advise.

    cheers Antman

theres a good spot behind rozelle hospital.drive down wharf rd off darling st till u get to the water.at the point you will see a submarine cable sign.fish to the left of the sign casting into the middle of the little bay

there .usually a good summer spot for bream ,flattys, whiting, tailor and the occasional school jew.

best fished with a morning high tide .at the top of the tide try between that spot and to your right you will see some rocks leading out to the water good spot for flatties.

good luck might see u down there one morning.

  6. Hi Jase :1welcomeani:

I'm relatively new to this site as well and in the limited time I've been here I've come to realise that the type of information that you're asking for is possibly a little too specific to expect an answer from the more experienced Raiders. You've picked a good spot, you've picked a good target species and you've picked some good bait - I tend to think that the rest is up to you!!

However, if what you want is some good info on fishing Captain Cook Bridge for Jews I would have a close read of the post in the 'Fishing Reports' section entitled 'Nice Jews are Here'. It tells of an extremely productive session for another Raider at the same spot during a late night fish. There are all sorts of good tidbits of info in there amongst the general dribbling over some massive fish.

The other Fishraider rule, I believe, is that you must now report back on how you went - you gotta give a little to get a little!! :1prop:

    Good luck!

    Mondo

    no problem

thanks for that mondo.i will report on saturday how the fishing session went.
