  1. We trolled skirts and bonito skip baits around Brown's and beyond on Saturday for zip. Covered 90 miles of ocean. Saw some whales and some dolphins but nothing else. Bait was scarce. Water hit a peak of 25.8 degrees C. Best part of the day was the magnificent conditions and a trip home travelling at 30kn+.

We did catch a couple of undersize dollies at the botany wide FAD on half pillies. Couldn't find the closer Botany FAD. Anyone know if it's been taken out for maintenance already?

I'm heading down to JB for Easter. Can anyone give me any reports from down there about Kings, Marlin, or Fin?

    Cheers,

    Todd

  2. Are you allowed to fish in a golf course? i would have thought that you woud not be able to get in and it would be weird to see someone fishing there.

I had permission from the greenskeepers and usually fished after golfing hours. The fish were more active then anyway. I used a small homemade, unweighted float with a glow stick on top. Then a 10 pound trace with single size 10 blackfish hook. 2kg main line. Plain white bread squeezed onto the hook for bait. Burley intermittently with small flattened balls of bread about the size of peas.

It was over 15 years ago but fun times indeed.

    Good luck.

  3. Hi Slink, I have a genuine Sarca anchor and it's the best anchor I've used. It's pulled my 2.5t rig up solid on a sandy bottom in strong current where as others I've tried in the same location failed. Last weekend I anchored in 55 meters on a reef and had no trouble dislodging it. I'm a happy customer. I did my research before my purchase and the test videos on their website (www.anchorright.com.au) were very persuasive. The only tip I have is make sure you keep the stainless shackle tight otherwise you'll make an expensive donation the ocean floor like I did :(
