    Im happy to do sunday mornings with you...say 6am-12...I have a young family and need to get home by 1-ish,,, i have a 6.5metre plate boat and a kayak,,, i know botany bay and outside pretty well but am no king,,, i can show you all my good spots,,,, I will get all the bait needed and pay the fuel,,,,you can wash the boat,,, i have all my own gear plus shit loads more,,,I have been out with many guys on their boats and shown them around,,, i have a boat licence,and my own life jacket,,,, I love to fish and show you how to use your fishfinder,, which fishfinder do you have?? I have a HDS8 on my plate boat and a lowrance elite 4 DSI on my kayak.....Im still learning too!

    I used to be the same smart arse (I used to race triathlons and can swim 2kms+ no problem),,, "I wasnt wearing a life jacket or spending money on government money raising ideas",,,...... but I went out and bought 4 of them for my boat and kayak ( u can always find them for about $70ish) I wear one every time i go out, you dont even know your wearing it,,, im sure if you were to go arse up 2-5kms offshore you would be glad to be wearing one and maybe wished you had 2 on,,,, nothing is ever a problem until you have a problem.........just my 2 bits worth on the subject

    To set the scene I had a 4000, a 6000, an 8000 and a 12000D Shimano D baitrunner( i sold the 4000 and the 12000 on online shop, since)

    About 6 months ago I hooked a kinghy at the wedding cake (Sydney) on the 6000D (IMO this real should be able to cope with a 80cm kinghy, easy)

    This reel was nearly new, I dont even think i had caught a fish on it yet,,, I hooked a kinghy, half way throught the battle it stripped all the gears out,, i had to pull the kinghy in by hand with the line,,,,,( the kinghy was just undersize)I took the reel back to the shop where i bought it,,, the boof head there (mind you when i bought it this reel it came with a milllion yrs warranty and could pull the titanic off the bottom,,,so the shop assistant told me) he said "yeah but you had a kinghy on it that is a tough fish for that reel) anyway i took the reel back to Shimano in Taren Point,, they fixed it for free and where very helpful,,,,,,,,I will have the 6000 and the 8000 on online shop shortly,,,I dont trust the D series, one bit.....( imagine you paying out money for latest and greatest gear only to have it fail on your first kinghy??????,,,,DONT BUY A D SERIES BAITRUNNER!) I have MANY B series baitrunners and have never had a problem or this problem with them,,,, i am just an everyday user,,,, not against or for Shimano,,, just telling it as it happened

    Was that Botany Bay off Sydney or another Botany bay???..... Coz i went out there with 20 live yakkas on sunday and caught, bugger-all,,,the kinghys are very sporadic this year.....well for my fishing they are!!!

    I couldnt think of anything worse,,....The "thought" sounds great, BUT you can only anchor in designated areas,, getting a position where you can see anything means getting there very early (even then you may get a spot that has a poor view), and not have other boats banging into your boat and visa versa,the skipper cant drink, I hate to imagine how long it would take to get out of there when the fireworks are over (there are 1000's of boats there, in the different areas) not to mention the line up at the boat ramp (if you have a trailer boat)

    I dont know if the enjoyment would overide the work involved!

    Im not looking for your spot X!!!!... *smile*,,,... I was just wondering what has been your most successful soft plastic (be specific coz there are millions of the bloody things out there! style and length) with which size jig head and which size hook and targeting which species of fish??? You may have a few different favourites you may like to share

    I was just wondering where you need to be to be considered..."being WIDE" i was drifting 5 kms offshore las sunday am I "wide"... not that i really care,,,, just wondering where you actually cross that line of "being out wide"???? I was passing B double truck on my way to Wollongong on the freeway last week,,, i couldnt see the land but i could still see water..... was i "outwide"?
