What model suzuki do you have??
Cause the flashing oil light just means it's due for a service on mine.
To get rid of it flashing you can pull the kill switch 3 times

Yes you need 12volts.. As Sydneyfisher12 has done is wired 8 AA batteries in series to get your 12 volts.
I'm not sure on how long it will last that depends on amp hour usage of the sounder and what amp hour battery you have.

You don't need a car size one you can get smaller ones from jaycar or bcf. You may need to buy a deep cycle one as you could be draining the to a low level that a normal battery will not recover.
After every outing I would recharge it with a battery charger. So you have it ready the next time you head out
Hope this helps

Mate you need a 12volt battery to power it

Yeah your best bet is to use jackell TN50 gold works best but I have also caught them on the black with purple bottom.
I have seen a cod in the shallows below the boat but have never caught one yet.

You might be cutting the tag end to close??? The knots you have suggested should not slip if done correctly

Well done on your catch Thien. I've been giving WIndamere a go too lately and find it highly enjoyable targeting these yellow footballs. The cod in the shallows would have been a real sight!
Thanks pmak,
I have been reading some of your reports and they are great!!
Next time you are going flicks us a pm and we should head out there.
But it won't be till after late January cause I'm heading to the states
Cheers

Top stuff, I havent had yellow belly for years,
if you have air con in your car its the best demister you can use, a/c on + heat on in demist mode clears the screen real quick!
Hi oz_brett,
I did have the air con on with demist and it was the cause of it getting worse.
I have white smoke coming out of the vents and it smells like a wet ironing board. Mind you it's a 2011 Nissan pathfinder.
Do you know what could cause this white smoke??
Cheers

Started off at leaving home at 01:30 pick up the boat and get my gear ready.
As I drove towards the mountain the temp dropped and my windscreen started fogging up.
Turn the demister and it made if worse. So here I was driving in the dark while my windscreen was fogging up, not a good combination!!!
It was that bad that I didn't see a dead roo on the road till the last minute!!! Had to just drive over the top of him as I didn't have enough time to react...
Anyhow got to windamere around 05:30 and tried to see if the other guys are awake yet and they weren't so I decided to go solo for 2 hours while the others are still asleep.
I stayed near the ramp just incase any of them turned up.... 2 hours went past still no sign of them. So I decided to have a real crack at it.
Drove up to area I usual area and with in half an hour landed my first fish..
Next fish took about an hour later roughly the same size in length but just fat and round!!
By this time I had seen my other mates and they ask me how did I go. I told them I had 2 in the tank. So I putted over to and area I thought might hold fish. Put the electric motor in drove in to my surprise it was shallow!! But I seen the biggest Murray cod!!! It would have been 1.2 metres long and FAT!!!! Just below my boat threw everything I had at him with no luck!!!
Packed it up for the morning and headed back to the ramp. For breakfast. After a long rest we decided to head back out in the afternoon. I only landed 1 more for the day. Forgot to take a picture of that fish.
After getting back and cooking dinner I didn't hit the sack till 23:30 or there a bouts. So I was pretty stuffed by them didn't get up the next morning till 09:30. So after lazing around we decided to head to another river system wasn't sure what it was called but it was a beautiful place and I landed another yellow belly with my bait caster and on a spinner bait. Mind you I only just started learning how to cast these things and I look like spastic when I cast it.. Lol
Started to get the hang of it in the end. Had 2 more follows and a missed strike
It was funny weather as we were driving back to windamere we seen the mountain full of what I thought was snow but I think it was hail!!! Got back to base and windamere copped a drenching!!
Sunday morning after packing up hit the water around 06:30, as I was driving out from the ramp I sounded out some fish so I decided to try and get into them. After hundreds of cast and wind picking up. I decided to head back to the area where I picked up the other fish the first day arrived. For the first hour nothing!!! Tried a few other spots and BANG!! I'm on again, this thing felt heavy... And surely enough it was
Bout 15min after that one this one jumps on..
Anyway hope you guys have enjoyed the read!!

Great catch Linc...
I find Melbourne fishing is very seasonal. Where as Sydney you can't catch fish all year round. But does slow right down in winter depending on what fish you are targeting
