  1. Kingsford :1yikes: I have my boat parked in kingsford aswell. Although i have it in a garage, but it still doesn't stop the bastards. I might invest in a wheel brace. Does anyone know how much they cost.

  2. The other day i was driving through botany to get lunch and i noticed that every boat that i drove past did not have a prop on it. Do people just take them off every time or has some scum gone around the area and removed all the props??

  3. Hi Raider,

After having a great day outside and inside botany bay yesterday i noticed that most of the LED's on the right side on my trailer were out. The left hand side is working perfectly. I dont normally disconnect the light before putting the trailer in the water. Could this have caused the LED's to blow. Do you have to change the whole section or are the lights interchangable.

    Any advice??

    Thanks :1fishing1:

  4. Yeah my mic is working because a few weeks back I had to get a tow as my water pump stopped pumping. I was still inside just before bare island when I tried. I basically just said on the radio " Goodmorning I would like to log in for the day please" with no response. What I am wondering if there is a correct procedure for logging in.

  5. Hi raiders,

I recently went outside the head of botany bay for the first time. Wasn't a bad day, just trolled with my new rapala lure that worked a treat on the bonnies.

When i was going out i tried to log in with the marine resuce on channel 90 (27 megs) with no reponse. I later heard anyother bloke radio in with marine resuce response. Can someone please clarify the correct procedure.

Their is one other thing i dont understand, which is the call sign. Can it be anything that you make up or is it a particular name that you have to register with the marine rescure.

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers :1fishing1:

  6. Hey raiders,

I have recently installed a lowrance 5x pro on my boat and took it out for a spin on Tuesday,

it was working fine exept I noticed that it was constantly showing up activity along the surface( even when I was stopped so it could be the outboard interferance).

Is there a setting I have to adjust or is this normal.

    Cheers

  7. You might want to check where the water comes out, i had a problem similar to yours. A little stick got caught where the water exits the motor. I just got a pin and removed it. A thin piece of wire will do the job aswell.

Even if it isnt blocked you should change the pump just to make sure.

    Cheers

  8. Hi, Tuffy

Thanks for the offer but i have already purchased the 5x pro. I got the complete unit including postage for under $300, so im quite happy with that.

Can anyone give me any tips on attaching the transducer to the transom. I have a aluminium hull, so i have heard i cannot use stainless steel screws as it reacts with the aluminium. Would aluminium rivets be enough?

    Thanks

  9. hey guys

do you guys use a sinker with you lures, i tried trolling once and was going around about 5 knots with a diving lure ( the one with the lip on a angle at the front.) I had 20 pound line on aswell but discovered that the lure was bouncing along the surface. Can someone please give any tips on rigging up a rod for trolling.

    Cheers

  10. Hey guys, im just tossing up between the 5x and the 5x pro. The 5x retails for about 250 and the pro around 320. The specs are similar but the depth of the pro is 305 metres and the 5x is 244. It is going on a bermuda 40 hp. I will mostly be using in the bay and just around the headland around botany bay. Im wondering will i need the extra depth of the pro being that i wont go goin more than 2 NM of the coast.
