  1. G'day Cranky,

That's a fantastic Gold Spot Trevally, not a GT... and that means it's a raider record (I think) if you want to submit it

    Slinky

    cheers slinky,

the boys from the charter thought it was a GT but i thought it was a gold spot trevally, so I think i might submit it as a record.

    cheers cranky.

  2. g'day raiders,

recently had a holiday trip to vanuatu a couple of weeks ago, we had a three hour charter as that is all the charter boat offered,

with in no time we were at the fishing ground and started trolling, as soon as the lures hit the water we were onto a set of 6 kilo yellowfin tuna, after that the fishing went a bit quiet.

so we heded over to a reef and berlied up, in seconds we saw a huge shadow in the trail, so the deckie baited up a chunck of barracuda and dropped it in the trail, then the rell started screaming off and I was in for a long battle,

20 minutes later the fish was landed, he measured up at 1 metre and weigh 12 kilo.

  3. Hi all,

My mate Enzo comes up with a winter plan to chase snapper, he said that we should try and fish the afternoon instead of the morning because its just too cold to get out of bed these days, (Lazy) i think!

Anyway, we launched the Quini at 3.30pm and off we were to Longreef on a mission to chase some snapper. Within minutes Enzo was onto the first Snapper, 30cm model which went back in the drink. We ended up with 6 Snapper, 33cm to 36 in a 2hr period.

Then, my rod goes off like a freight train, we knew we were on a good fish. A good 5min battle the beast from the deeps was at boat side, Enzo netted and dropped a 68cm (just over 4kg) Snapper on the deck of the Quini.

    A Great Sunset Fish...

well done mate a top fish for sucha hard fished area.

    well done!!

  4. g'day raiders,

does anybody know what fish are prevelant during the winter months in the estuaries like forster and the hawkesbury river and some tactics on how to catch them as they might be a bit harder to catch.

    cheers.

  6. hey guys,

went out and fished the inshore reefs around lauriton with fresh squid and pillies. this trag and a 63cm eastern blue spotted flathead were the only legal fish we landed the whole day. i got the trag on the very first drop down and when it hit it took about three good runs almost back down to the bottom.

anyways it was a pretty good day out considering only two keepers came aboard.

your full of shit widz that u got a brean 40cm

    thats bullshit!!!!!

  7. Hi raiders,

Just wondering if anybody has got gps coordinates for texas reef and if you've been out there latley what did you get catch. Im thinking of heading out there this weekend but just want to know if its worth going.

I better be coming widz u bastard ahahahahahahaha :1fishing1:

and i cant belive i lost that fish on the weekend, it would of been at least 1.5 kg bro dead set :ranting2:

  8. Hey luke,

Too bad about the lost ones but at least you got out on the water. And what was the weather like down there.

the weather was good, but the water was a real dirty brown colour from all the rain but that didnt seem to fase the fish,we were also casting into a enterance to a little creek were a lot of freshwater was pouring into the river, I think all the fish wer waiting out the front of that waiting for all the stuff that will come out of the fresh water,

but overall it was a good day and the weather was fine.

  9. g'day raiders,

went out saturday afternoon to chase a couple of bream and flathead on metal vibes.

we put in at berowra waters and headed over to calabash bay, we started o aslow drift around the shallows and mangroves. With in no time I was hooked up to the first fish of the day, a little flathead, the next couple of casts produced nothing, so I changed my vibe to a bit heavier weight and brown colour, the second cast produced a solid hookup and didnt even have the chance to wind before this steam train of a fish busted me off in the mangroves :ranting2: I reckon it would of been a big blue nose bream.

next cast with the same vibe, i had another big hook up, this time I locked up the drag and the hooks pulled,

so all day I was having no luck watsoever. :05:

anyway it was good to get out of the house.

    cheers luke.

  10. If your the kingie master, then why would you need help...hahahaha. Live squid is always a good bait and around the point of Careel bay seems to hold a few. Good luck

ahahahahahah thanks mate, its only because i havent been out for a while and havent had the chance to chase them so yeah thats why and i am the kingie master

ill show the pics after this weekend

    lol.
