Hey Kelvin,
I always learn something from reading your posts, so thanks for sharing your experience.
I was throwing plastics at the surface kings without luck and was wondering how you rig/retrieve the ones that you have shown?
Cheers

Hey guys,
was down there recently and nailed a nice little 30-40cm flattie on a prawn star near the rocks last thursday, was stoked that it worked so well. Also wanted to share a crap story with you guys, was speaking to a local called juno there and weekend before last he was night fishing and these little unsavoury characters ran off with a Jew he caught that was close to 1m long!! (estimate of his hand jestures) he rekons he chased the guy with the fish but he hopped into a getaway car and sped off up the hill. He also said that these guys were there b4 and had no idea about fishing and he and a mate were helping them rig up and stuff.......
Doubt that they would show their faces there again but u never know. I just couldnt believe how low that is
Also that's the first i've ever heard of a jewie from there, i hope it was a giant fugu fish and they died!!
Cheers

Eventually they bust up in range the right side on the boats and I nailed my first two Frigate Mackerel.
Awesome job,
saw a couple of these torpedoing some small baitfish in middle harbour yesterday and chucked a sluggo and SP at them with no interest, what did u get them on?

Haha, thanks for the reply Sword fisherman.
It is a closed face reel, your post got me thinking and i figured out that the line feeds from the reel to the pin outside the hub which engages after its screwed in ( i didnt notice b4). Woohoo!
Sounds like there's a funny story behind some rod trouble Sharky, what happened?
Cheers

This is shamefull,
but my 3yr old got the barbie fishing kit and i have absolutely no clue as how to rig it up as the instructions were tossed (how hard could it be hey?.....), it is a very strange design and !@#$ i have nearly given up on this!! There is a lot of very usefull knowledge floating around here so any help (not payouts) regarding this kids toy would have me and bugalugs stoked.
*It is an enclosed design with a metal hub over the line that spins when u wind (spool with the line is stationary), this hub has metal spring loaded pin at the top which i suspect is like the feeding roller, and around the spool is felt, if you feed through to the pin there is no guide to spool the line......
*no info found on the web either
*not sure where purchased to look at another pack
Cheers

Balmoral 14/4 In The Yak

Nice Samson, how long was it?
Guys for ideas on your yak setup and organising yak specific trips check out www.akff.net I found it very usefull and good reports etc. I have my sounder in a plastic cup with the bottom removed then siliconed to the hull and water filled, works great - I could pick out the ball sinker and squid head with fish rising up to it the other day! Pitty they were jackets! Might see you out at Balmoral sometime in my sot.
Cheers
