yellowtail sashimi are apparently really nice...
some japanese restuarants are selling a yakka (approx 20cm) at $9 a dish!! i cant bring myself to ordering one
is it yellowtail king fish? or yakkas? i have tried snapper sashimi, it wasnt the best sashimi i had.

Thats the third Cobia i have heard of being caught around Sydney recently and all have come from well inside the systems. Also, whilst over at Jibbon last week collecting squid we saw a Manta ray cruising the surface as well, definitiley some strange fish showing up at the moment.

Hey Guys,
I was on the water on sunday and saw a school of what i believe to be bonito on the surface just as i was heading out towards the heads.We were trolling 4 lures but no strikes what so ever.
I had a range of lures from the rapal xrap to a metal slice and some feather trolling lures.Ive been hearing alot about the bonito in the bay and wouldnt mind catching a few just for fun.
Could someone please inform me where these bonitos are being caught and on what.

This is my first report, so go easy on my guys
i went to rose bay wharf at night hoping for a squid or two. started at 5 and ended at 8pm there was no single squid there. i guess tackle shop keeper gave me false information -
