  3. ahh we went out there a few weeks ago and all we caught was those ulgy fish

there was loads of them and you could see them swimming in schools

    we must have caught 20+!!

none the less decent size for a leathie

  4. We finally built up the courage to go wide last Sunday.. There was virtually no swell at Lion Island so we pointed the bow east and made it to the Broken Bay Wide FADS .. We dropped a few pillies down near the fad and after about 10 mins all four lines went off and Mahi Mahi Madness had set in..

Attached is the best of the catch, we went home with 8 keepers.. They tasted great on the BBQ, and yes we plan to go back..

    Cheers

  5. Leds are fine in most cases, but watch out for some vehicles that have a bulb test program built into the cars system. eg BMW X5.

The Leds will flash faintly when the trailer is plugged in, which is a problem at night, and we ended up always unplugging the trailer before backing down the ramp.

Anyway 9 months later the wiring failed, we went back to sealed bulb lights.

Next time they fail, it will be back to a light board..

    Cheers.

  6. G'day Raiders.

    EAST REEF : East Reef 33.32.900 S 151 23 880 E

Closet Ramps - Parsley Bay / Apple Tree Bay if from Syd.

Jig used - Metal , Blue / Silver Colour 80g - made in Japan. Many Brands now available.Large Hook on the top, ( I have added a treble to the bottom..bad Habit)

Method: Ideally use braid (9~15kg) on a quality overhead reel, drop the jig to the bottom, bounce it on the bottom a few times...then crank it up like mad.. and hang on!!

  7. G'day Raiders

We visited East Reef early and drifted back into BB.

By 9.30 am (launched in the dark) we had boated:-

1 X small Dolphin Fish -using large bait jigs. (a First)

    3 X Kings ( 1 Keeper) - using Squid

    1 X School Jew. - on Squid.

Had to leave the action due to crew getting sick. :1badmood:

Anyhow, BB could be firing up later this year..

    Cheers. :1fishing1:
