  1. Gday guys,

If things did not change since last autumn, it is a 4 knot zone upstream of apple tree bay right up to the top of Cowan. But There is a no power boat zone upstream of the Bobbin Head bridge on Cockle creek.

I might as well put my report here too; I fished the latest part of the system on friday from my yak on the top of the tide for zilch :05: The water was extra clear and I only sighted a few XL whiting and one bream- I guess many more fish sighted me :1prop: . End of my report.

  2. Hi,

I own a Brooker Saratoga 395, it is a V punt and I use it in estuary and inpoundments mostly for lure fishing; it will be 5 years old in october, and I will keep it beyond that, never had a problem with it. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about my Brooker trailer :1badmood: Stay away from any trailers with a Brooker sticker on it.

The Brooker factory is indeed in Silverwater, I unfortunatly visited it, when I put their nose in it :ranting2: when the tubes of my trailer started to split after just one year of normal use. They seem to also use components for their trailers that nobody else uses around here (rollers for example).

  3. May be worth a trot up the road from you to ABA over at Penrith mate. There isn't much they DON'T keep in stock! Mick showed me the store...its absolutely chockers!

I live in St Clair and that's the first shop I checked, they do not carry them :(

  4. G'Day Raiders,

I am at the end of my supply of large Celta lures, they are about 10 or 12 grams and they cast like bullets; beside that they look like a normal Celta, I am specially after the "turbo" model (has 3 holes in the blade) in silver.

I got my stock a few years ago in a shop in Annandale on Parramatta road, but it does not exist anymore :( .

Would any of the tackle rats on the site, know where I can get some in Sydney or eventually online?

And yes, for those of you who are curious, those big lures catch trout :1fishing1:

  5. The women in my house- I am outnumbered 1 to 3 :15: ) reckon you can never have enough shoes, handbags or clothes, I reply to them that you can never have enought, rods reels or lures :1clap:

  6. When I was younger and fitter, I took my minnow upstream of the rock bar, several time. There are a few interesting pools, were you can catch bass or goldfish (up to 5 kg). I remenber my enconter there with a 2 metre goana, that really scared the sh!t out of me :badair: if you are into fly fishing there is a few freshwater herring too that you can get on very light fly gear providing that you can find some space for a back cast after "smuggling" the fly rod through the rock bars and branches (in your kayak, remember :1prop: ). Do not ask me how they taste, catching herring on fly is pure w@nk, you would not want to do that for a feed  .

I always thought a float tub would be ideal to fish that kind of water, but I never bought one  .
