  1. Gday Dan

Here is my never fail spot for a fish on the Hawksberry. I find that it fishes well on a run out tide.

Start drifting into the centre of the passage from just past the timber warf.

It is only a short drift of about 50 meters or so as there is a rock bar level with the second or third house.

I usually always sometimes pick up a few nice flathead here on the run out.

I have tried fishing on the run in without any luck here

I have also had success doing the drift fom Bar Point up river towards Spencer.

    Hope this helps

    Cheers

    Bob

Thanks heaps for that, greatly appreciated

  2. I know fishermen and women never give away there "spots" that are good to them, but i am taking a mates kids out fishing for the day on the hawkesbury. I can handle a day of fishing with out any luck but i know how easily kids get bored if nothing is happening.

Im not asking for exact GPS point here lol, just a few helpful hints so the kids have a good time and hopefully land their first fish and to prevent the "im borrrrrrred" statement.

I have my own boat so will not be restricted by the old hire boat boundary

PM me of post em in the thread i dont mind.

    Thanks in advance.

    Dan.

  3. Kicking back having a beer and head a few rumbles, didnt think much of it because most of the storms seem to bypass my area.

Rumbles got louder and louder and some insane lightning was cracking all around me, then the rain :1yikes: my garage is flooded lol..

Once the rain passed was out the back and the lightning was still going nuts, i grabbed my camera and turned in on LOW BATTERY :ranting2:

Had enough for 3-4 shots scored this one on the 2nd :yahoo:

    hope you like it..

  4. Does the remote has a reset button?

Generally they are tiny little buttons that you need a pin of something really thin to press it. They are sometime on the back of the remote tho some i have seen on the front.

Try giving that a push if there is one.

  6. Gday guys/gals.

Was wondering if there is a website out the dedicated to information on events ect happening in Sydney harbour?

Last saturday went fishing and i think every yacht in NSW was out there lol, would be nice to know about whats going on in the harbour before setting out.

    Cheers Dan.

  7. yep shi# load of yachts and choppy inshore and offshore....dont know what it was but there were even small skiffs racing off south head..... a good day to be out anyway.. :bump0ee: and

Yeh was a nice day, would have prefered it a bit more quiet for the first time takin the boat out but it was a good learning experience. Man some of those yacht skippers are nutcases there would of had to be 5 near misses that i saw and by near misses there was a bees "appendage" in it lol..

  8. Yeah same story here, launched at Melrose Park and motored out to harbour. Very slow day, mate caught a 38ish cm flattie on a bait jig  and all i could manage was the worlds smallest snapper lol.

Harbour was insanley busy with yachts, must have been some regata or somthing on. Plus was it me or was the harbour very choppy today?

Well i enjoyed the day on the water even if there was no fish caught.

  9. Today i purchased my first boat. Its VA911's old Stessl 4.6m boat. The pics are in members boats page 10 1st post if you dont know what it looks like.

Im wrapped :yahoo: cannot wait to get her out in the Harbour or up to Brooklyn.

I would like to thank VA911, for a smooth sale. Very informative and helpfull.

Hope to see all you raiders out on the harbour reel soon :biggrin2:

    Dan.

  10. Heading out on the harbour tomorrow morning with a mate, hiring a tinnie from rose bay. Hoping to land my first ever King, but will take anything that is unlucky enough to latch onto my line lol . Weather is forecast to be shit, but a shit day out on the water is heads and shoulders better than a good day at work lol..

Wish me luck, hope to post my 150cm Kingie tomorrow night :074:

  11. Gday all,

I am pretty new to fishing, i mean i have fished now and then but im pretty novice. Its been that long since i dropped a line in i forgot all the damn knots, lucky my mate is a seasoned fisho.

Anyway i just wanted to share my excitement with you guys bout a trip i took into the harbour on thursday 15/1/09, we hired a tinny from rose bay and after a whole bunch of nothing on the way back to hire place we came across a massive group of king fish. It was crazy, i hooked up about 5 times but only landed 1 :( . Undersized so he went back into the drink. But oh my god, what a fight im now hooked and am looking a buying at boat.....

  12. Gday champ, i have been up the last 2 weekends and landed zip. Given i was shore based maybe that had somthing to do with it i dunno. :1badmood: a few weeks ago i hired a boat and went out ( i dont have my own yet :( ) and landed 3 beam and 2 flatties. anyway i hope you have more luck than me mate. post some pics it ya land nething

  13. Hi all,

Im interested to know what people favourite fishing videos are. I've only got the berkley sp promo video that came with a box of assorted sp's. Its got Mad Dog Royter (a rather appropriate name for a guy who gets VERY excited about fishing), 1/2 is too salesy but the other 1/2 is very informative.

:074: does he what.. how funny is it when he catches that flattie. "better get out my saddle and ride it" :074: but yes a very informative DVD

  14. If anyones interested I'll be camping out for the week on one of the beaches behind Bar Island.

If your out on the water and just want too :1fishing1: and fart (maybe) call in and say GDAY

I'll have channel 96 on as well, call will be FR,FR,FR Boppa

    Boppa

Just to clarify things as well I will not enter into discussions of web sites AT ALL just want to fish with good people

Gday mate yeah i hope you land some decent fish. i was up there on saturday and got sweet fu** all :1badmood: lol. i massive hit that snapped my line. i tried under the freeway bridge around at parsley bay and no luck oh thats fishing good luck anyway !!
