I ONLY GOT TO THE ENTRANCE OF HIS SHED, I AM SURE THERE IS MORE HIDDEN IN OTHER PLACES.

    G`day Fellas

Bugga , Thats my old TV antenna , except it`s been Tarted up a Bit.

I wondered where that got to.

  2. G`day Fellas ,

Heat shrink is definately the Go.

When My Boys were bitten by the CB Craze some years ago , I had the same Problem with the Mobile Aerials .

The problem was solved when One of the Club members , A Telstra Techo - PMG ? , called into my Place and after checking the soldered Joint , shrink wrapped all our mobile Aerials .

It took only seconds , but it did the Job.

So , if ya know any Telstra techos , invite em around for a Barbie .

Charlie Charlie Seven -Charlie Charlie Seven - Callling King Baker 6 Over .

  3. G`day Fellas ,

MICK , If you are in a tinny , then the area indicated by the Map below is ideal to teach your Kids .

The Blackies in this spot , are as thick as A Bulldog Forward , and the flow is also Ideal for blackfishing.

Just under the " R" in Fowler Rd , is a magic eddy , which always produced the Goods .

It is also a top spot for Leather Jackets as well , with Bream nearly always a by product of the catch .

The odd jew was always a chance , and when the Blackies dropped off , we would change Tack and target Bream and Leatheries .

The Leatheries were always enormous Chinamen , and the Bream good size Schoolies.

Don`t forget the Berly , I always added a handfull of Bran to the sand & weed mix , a trick shown to me by an old local who was my mentor for this area.

    Good Luck !.

  4. G`day Fellas ,

Goner , my non poncy store bought line winder , :074::074::074: is An Old Golf Buggy turned inside out .

Now this makes avery stable platform to wind on any Breaking strain line or Braid you want to.

The Pressure Pads on the spool , are Made from Old Mouse Pads ( I`m doing My Bit for Global Warming By recycling everything as you can see ) , and the AXLE is an Curtain rod offcut .

You attach the spool as shown in the Pic , theread your line down through the rollers on your rod and just wind it on ........PURRRFECT.

The bottle , is simply my PODDY MULLET Trap , which did not want to be left out of things when I was taking the Pic .

The Trap is a Gem as Well.

  5. G`day Fellas ,

  6. G`day Fellas ,

Just keep in mind that it`s tough work using those big softies from the beach at night , especially when It`s pitch black dark.

You are continously casting out into the Gutters , and if there is no Light at all , some skill is needed to get your Lure out and in the Direction of the gutter.

I have had fellas casting almost 160 Degrees accross me in the Dark , and once I almost got cleaned up by a 100 gram ball sinker and Pillie rig that just missed me.

One thing about bait is , you just anchor it and wait.

So , make sure you have plenty of room between you and the others , although with the temp at 8 degrees , I dont think you will have all that much company.

  7. Hi all

Wish to share any bloops and blunders or embaressing goofs

along the learning curve of fishing for i will start it off.

A couple of years ago agood mate of mines wish was for him to catch his first marlin

so with this in mind we set out to get one for this marlin virgin

being the type who was hands on he wanted to help so I instructed him which one of the lures in the lure

pouch to use, and were best in the pattern to place it, and just at what the right distance for it to do its thing.

And do it did ! during the course of the morning it got mauled eaten and attacked on no more than five occasions and which after the second time i asked him to bring it in and check it which he did its fine says he

after the fith time i told him to bring it back in let me look at i said i know the hooks are sharp i touched them up last night any thing swimming within coee of it should hook up and maybe so if only some one had

removed the plastic hook gaurds before putting it in the water. OOPS he remained a marlin virgin untill one year to the day when finally getting his wish and caught his first marlin and being a little fella we brought it on board before releasing it for some happy pics off the proud angler. use my camera he says so i did

never can understand what he sees in twelve blank picture frames stacked behind his bar for you see in the pre digital camera days they gave a much better result if you loaded it with film first. OUCH!

    G`day Fellas .......

Of Course Thats Provided after youse pop the film in , Spend a 1/2 half an hour setting up the scene , don your Picasso Hat , and shoot the whole roll , crack a bottle of champers to celebrate the the ocasion , then slink out of the camera store red faced with 28 Blank prints.

Nobody told me I had to take the friggin lens cover off did they.

They of course would not print them today , but trust me , they did in the old Days

  8. G`day Fellas ,

Some time back I hooked the mother of all fish from a beach In Sydney .

He pulled me all the way to NZ by Morning , and because the soles of my feet were so badly worn by barefooting all the way , I could not walk back home , so I had to fly .

Now although I never sighted my Quarry , I was sure it was a huge whiting .

    Mick

  9. G`day Fellas ,

Seriously though , anybody who honestly believes they , and they alone , know a special spot , and they alone know about it , are suffering from Delusions .

There are no secret spots anywhere , and if you think you know one ....... call 000 , ya need help and quick.

    Mick

  10. G`day Fellas ,

There is a photo in the book of a mixed bag of fish containing a monster Drummer , and also one blackfish that must be every ounce of 5 LBS .

But when I scanned it , I could not reduce the Speckle .

    Mick

  11. G`day Fellas ,

We Hit the sand today for a looky , and I`m pleased to report , that when the dust settles , We Are going to Have some of the best conditions The Sandmen have had here for yonks.

About 10 days should see it clear , but there is a lot of rubish hig up the beaches between Wallabi Point And Harrington .

A rather bizzare scene up the near the Old Entrance was a 1.5 kilm stretch of Kelp , that had washed up , and had been buried by shifting sand .

It looked like A million Mangrove pencils had sprouted and taken root from the drop off to almost the High Water mark....bloodsy wierd that.

    Mick

  12. G`day Fellas ,

A VERY BRAVE MAN WROTE THIS!!!!!!

    (Now he's dead!)

A Son asked his mother the following question:"Mum, why are wedding dresses white?" .

The mother looks at her son and replies,"Son, this shows your friends and relatives that your bride is pure."

The son thanks his Mum and goes off to double-check this with his father.

"Dad why are wedding dresses white?".

The father looks at his son in surprise and says, "Son, all household appliances come in white !".

    Mick

  13. G`day Fellas ,

    Ahhhh , Ok , I see Now , rather overkill though don`t you think ? .
