Hi All,
I am heading over to Fiji in a couple of weeks and want to book a fishing charter. The island is situated above the main island.
I am just wondering if any one has done any deep sea fishing charters from Savu Savu
I want to book a charter soon.
Thoughts and suggestions would be great.
Please PM any responses
Thanks

13'6 daiwa sensor surf - i use this as my distance casting rod - you wont look back

Griprox fishing spikes are pretty good if the location you fish is slippery.
-
You can always salt it down and store it in a tightly sealed container.
Its not as good as fresh but still does the job.

Hi raiders,
Ive recently bought a saltiga dorado BG85s rod for landbased kingfish. I will mostly be spinning stick baits and garfish.
I am looking for a reel to match. Willing to spend up to $400.
Has anyone got any information on the Seagate 6500E. Seems like a good reel but not sure on the actual spool. It is very straight edged so not sure about casting.
The alternative would be a saragosa 18000.
Any help appreciated.

sensor surf for me mate - great rod

albright knot all the way.

go the saragosa for sure. You wont look back.

Shimano spheros buddy. great reel, relatively cheap price and good drag capacity.

hey Butch.
I fish long reef a little bit off the rocks but where abouts it witches hat? these are the two places that i fish in the photo attached, point A & B

absolutely amazing fish. Well done.

Thanks for that. You made it very clear.
I have some red surf poppers at home, might venture to the shop today and pick up some blue ones.

Nice work on the sambo. Just a quick question, do you rig the surf popper on the top of a paternoster rig with the pilchard on the lower one? Its good to see they actually work as i have only used one once before and had no luck.

well done, awsome catch.. that was a great read, nothing better on a monday morning at work.

I don't usually fish that side of the harbor..
I prefer the northern beaches like narrabeen. Both south and north narrabeen are always worth a shot, anything from jews, salmon to bream and whiting.
Cheers

Hey guys,
Im off to kiama for the weekend fishing. I will be fishing landbased and just wondering if anyone has been there lately and how the fishing has been?
-
have to be a little careful with using on the rocks though as the can scratch easily.

I eat salmon all the time and i don't mind it. Fresh fish is always good

Great catch there mate.
Just a quick question. When fishing with bread from the stones, do you use a running sinker (small) straight to the hook, unweighted, below a float?
Ive never used it before but willing to give it a go.
Cheers

thanks for the help mate.
I have been speaking to a company already and they seem pretty good. They said they will let me know a few days before i get to fiji what will be the best day to go out.
I will also check out other charters when i am there.
Cheers
