best way to catch cuttlefish is i know so far from my experience is to jig really slow with just two twitches and just jig for half second twice and leave it for 30 seconds, i have caught heaps of cuttlefish from this trick and i am yet to open my squid account and i m gonna do it soon,

thanks greg for your help, i think i got the idea how you rig it up, its just open the hood flip it over the gut side, (take out the beak ?) and hook it up using two hooks, correct me if i am wrong,
what would be target species ??? on a cuttlefish
all help really appreciated
thanks again

How is mono produced?
I mean to get something so thin the same diameter all the way for up to 1km, how do they do it??
And braid too.... its pretty amazing.
if you think that way, then think about how the clothes and linen are made ??????

i would say its not a long tom, first reason that it doesnt have that really long beak, second the face of long tom looks kinda square, i caught around 20 longtoms in the harbour which were all different sizes, had great fun on light gear, the longest one was 1.2m

. Another bait to try would be small cuttlefish. The heads/tenticals with the gut/ink sack still attached make a great bait. You might need to wrap it in bait string to keep it all together if doing big casts off the shore.
hey greg, everytime i go for squidding i end up catching cuttlefish, and i never use it as a bait, so how do i hook it, do i need to take the bone out of the hood, ? last time i hooked it up alive and it died in 10 min, and for jews do you use sinkers that put the bait all the way to thee bottom ?
any help would be appriciated
cheers

Dear fellow raiders,
My friend has a boat moored around the edge of Mccarrs creek (South Western end of Pittwater) and we are keen fishos so we take it out around the area every now and then but all we end up doing is because bites are too far in between. Got to a point where we don't feel motivated to even drop a line...
Any suggestions as to where we should start in the area and fire us back up?
Any sort of advise is much appreaciated
burly is the key

hey just thought id give all you blokes a heads up that there is a scam going on at the moment that i was almost victim of.
long story short i was selling a motor bike online, had someone contact me asking questions and eventually giving me an offer,
they then claimed that they had placed money for bike in my pay pal account plus an extra $950 for shipping.
i then recieved an email from what appeared to be paypal, requesting that i pay the shipping money out of my own pocket then the full money will be released into my account.
this is when i got sus and downloaded a program that verifys email addresses. to find out that email was actually from a different email that was discised as paypal.(if anyone has recieved simliar and wants to know scam email address say so, wasnt sure if i could publish it)
my question is, is there anything you can do or anyone you can report this activity to so that they dont scam anyone else?
any help would be appreciated
regards mark
if you have paypal id just email paypal and they will take care of it

this is what i found
Also known as Bung or Yakka.
Yellowtail are a traditional bait for recreational and commercial fishers (live and dead bait for tuna)
Fish put straight onto ice slurry are used for human consumption.
Yellowtail are caught with handlines and seine nets and are often associated with schools of pilchards.
They are a pelagic fish that form large schools in marine inshore areas such as estuaries and bays. Adult fish are generally found over offshore rocky reefs, while juveniles are generally found in shallow, soft substrate areas.
Spawning is thought to occur in the open ocean. Yellowtail first mature at 20cm (females) and 22cm (males)
