  2. Went fishing with Quinfish yesterday we decided to hit the Hacking and try and get some nice table fish

1st part of the plan get some nippers from Mainbar after 45 minutes work no nippers WTF I have never not been able to get nippers here before so this was a suprise to say the least

Next we go and do the flattie drift acros the front of the bar I got 1 small one on a berkley gulp alive 3"

curly tail in chatruse, after this we decide to go out the front casue the weather is good and only a light westerly blowing in

We find our spot 27 - 30 meters deep and start dropping baits down I was fishing 1 medium rod with 10lb braid and a 12lb leader tap tap on little flattie quinfish gets baited down we go again then I am on

a decent feeling fish that had my rod really bouncing down hard and drag coming off in spurts up comes

a beautiful 55cm flattie then it was flattie after flattie coming in some under sized and some nice keeers

In all I believe we caught around 30 fish and kept 8-9 a really nice feed the action was that constant that the

1st couple of fish in each had photos taken then we were to busy with rods bouncing and hookign up everytime we dropped a bait

After a couple of hours of this we decide to call it a day and head back in as the wind had turned and

we had eneough fish for a nice feed

We get back to Wally's warf and start cleaning the fish on the pontoon,I am cleaning my 55 cm fish and go to wash it out then the bugger slipped out of my hand woops as I see in sinking to a white smudge at the bottom ARGGGGGHH i shout then Quinfish and I look at each other & I strip of down to my shorts and jump in (bloody cold let me tell ya ) I dive down to get the fish and realise wow this is pretty deep find it come up like a champion ROFLMAO there were a few people there and they were having a good old laugh

at me but it was worth it

We had a great day and I look forward to hitting that spot again BTW flattie fillets in chilli ginger and lime taste great

  5. From what I have heard, when carp spawn their eggs are sticky and float on the surface,

then when a duck or water bird lands they get stuck to their plumage when they take off & land

in another lake the eggs come loose and bingo carp in a new lake

Dunno if thats right but it is what I heard

  6. Mate I have a daiwa sol 2000 and cant recomend it enough

very smooth and lays the line near perfect I use 4lb fireline on it

and on the spare spool I have 6lb fireline as well

another reel to look at is the Daiwa exceler plus 2500 I find it to be

a perfect match for my medium weight sp set up and it handles the task well

I think it all comes down to budget I.E buy the best you can afford to at the time

you can always sell on later if you look after your gear (I even keep all the boxes

    for resale value)

    Good luck with your choice

  8. Coollamon:

I don't have an answere for your question but I have some for you as we are looking around for a salt water electric motor.

How are you going to mount it on your boat.

We have been told to bow mount it we have to cut the bowrail which we don't want to do.

    Any ideas?

Yep thats what I was told to and looks like if I want one I am going to have to cut it I was told that there would be a cap placed over the bowrail so I dont think it would look to messy

I havent heard of any other way to put them in for our style of boat

    cheers
