Nice fish mate, good work.
Best of luck in the future.
-
I didnt mention the name of the magazine it comes with nor did I mention where you purchase it? I was genuinely trying to help fellow fishos out and nothing more.
-
Would still be way too fresh up there now, Ive seen flatties pulled in Rydalmere so try again later.
Dont eat those things though.
-
Nice work Carno, thanks for your report.

Hi Steve
in times of extreme need (middle of winter) I've even resorted to getting some weed (and cabbage) posted to me from Sydney when I've been unable to locate any up here!!! If you can't find any, give me a yell & I'll shove some in a Vac Bag & mail it to you! along with a weed fly!
I'll be taking my blackie gear with me to the Entrance Social this weekend.
Cheers
Roberta

Would you mind having a "Lady to lady" with my wife about letting me fish whenever I want? Your husband is truelly blessed!

Isn't it great to see a government looking after fishos for once!!
1st they re-open fish rock & now they will build us artificial reefs.
Bloody unreal!!
Cheers,
Grant.
Lets not get ahead of ourselves mate, they could turn around and ban fishing around it.

ok cool, there was this african american guy down there over easter, I helped him land a bonny and a kingy
The guy was in the rain, by himself with an air pump and was so cool to see someone so keen and solo get rewarded! He had been there from sun up and we checked back later that night and he was still there lol, riding off the stoke he got from the fish during the day
Thats what fishing is all about
Feakin kicking myself I couldnt go tonight, its like my wife books crap Im not interested in just to stuff up my fishing!
I've put my foot down and said im going tomorrow night or youre looking at a trial seperation!
Ill 100% be down at Balmoral tomorrow night with my cousin so come down.
-
Nope but I was there over Easter.
-

-
Hey buddy, where abouts in Balmoral are you squidding? I wasplanning to go to Yowie bay or Lillie pillie but I have heard they are not producing much squid.
Just on the board walk at the right hand side of the beach, just look for the dark bloke who looks like he cant squid for sh1t. make sure you say G'day if you come!
-
Mate, if no ones call me out for drinks tonight, you might see me there. I'm squid addict haha. Never tried there so prob get some squid and hunt for jewfish tonight haha.
There's a bottle shop across the road, Ill by you a beer just head down LOL.
-

Mate my parents are from fiji, and me and my dad pull these in with handlines when we go down there. We get laughed at by our relatives when we bring rod and reels over hahaha. I understand your pain these things are monsters. I had so much fun catching these (or should i say getting busted off by these) when i was at hamilton island. Great catch mate
My parents are from Fiji and my relos back there laughed at all the gear I took over too. They basically put a couple of band aids on their index finger and rig up a handline with the strongest line possible and out fish you every time.
They REALLY cracked up at my lures.

Ill be down at Balmoral tonight doing a Solo Sess if anyone wants to join me?

Meadowbank is very close to home for me, does anyone know if you can squid there?
Seeing as squid feed on small fish would it be ok to eat squid from Meadowbank or should one just use them for bait assuming there are any?
-
Sincere condolences to the family and friends or the fishermen.
That said, if you cant swim learn how to. We live on an Island after all.
-
G'Day Leo, how much were your Bars Optics if I may ask?
If you say they were less than $100 Ill be hit with a huge dose of buyers remorse!
-
I just purchased a pair of these Polarised Smoke Lens - Pale Gold Mirror glasses online, has anyone got a pair?
Probably should have asked you guys before I punched in my Credit Card details! LOL
-
No mate you cant unless you dont want to eat them in which case Ive heard of guys landing flathead in Ermington (Parra River) on softies.
Please for the love of god dont eat anything from there.
-
theres a few factors to take into account u cannot pick what wind direction u want and those guys are not casting with bait the bait would considerably reduce the drag
Are you russian Brother?

4 oz and bait .187 mts is my best,if you use a clip down rig 220 mts plus ,there is a lot more to distance than picking up a beach rod ,the UK distance is just over 300 yards not meters ,the 300 yards has been cast by 2 australian casters ,these diatance are cast with 80 lbs shock leader and .31 dia line with abu 6500 or umxl 2 or 3's reels, the world record was cast with 6600 black max abu magged by the caster. you can push braid to the same and futher with the use of tappered braid leaders and very light braid ,there is no comps for this style so there is no real point in seeing how far it will go ,
When expertise like THIS is on hand you know youre on a good site!

Thanks guys, my goal over winter is to get my cast to the 80-100m. I suck at finding gutters so I want to be able to launch it well past the breakers by next summer season.
Thanks again
-
Good point, although I guess its handy to have a decent cast to get you past the breakers.
-
Im only new to flicking a Beach rod and reckon I have casted about 40m using a 10ft beach rod.
I'm 5/11 and 85kg
So what sort of distances are my fellow raiders able to launch their baits?
Any tips on technique?
