  1. saw the same thing about a month ago, but not so many....maybe 15-20 dolphins swimming around and breaching the surface between kurnell and towra....didnt catch any fish in the bay, so we headed down to the georges...ended up baggin a few flatties and 28 cm bream...

felt like the fish may have been spooked by the dolphins, because we did not get any bites in the bay that day

  2. hi guys

wasnt a bad day out...nothing big , but caught a few fish i havent seen before...a lizard fish and a long tom...

not sure if they are the real names but thats what the locals call them

1st long tom got caught in the tail and tangled the line...2nd one put up a good fight and jumped out of the water a few times once hooked...got him in tho...lots of teeth on both of them...lots o

both lt's were caught on a 4" white shad with a silver back...near the most northern wreck....by the end of the session the sp was a mess...

  3. Hi raiders,

off to tangalooma today to escaqpe the rat race and hopefully wet a line. just moved to brissy and have left my faithful waters of botany for something new.

weathers pretty rubbish...rain and overcast....ferrys takin a bit to leave so id thought id drop a post to kill some time.

loaded up with a few bags of sp's, few bait jigs, and a few spin outfits.

will drop another post in a few days ...hopefully with photos of fish!

  4. twin hules are good but twin engines 2 services thats what turned me off them unless your got plenty of cash which i havent so i went for a diesel this time in a costom boat 60 litres a day and 200$ in filters and oil for a service.

What about single engine twin hulls? Is there a difference in stability or maneuverability?

  5. Hi guys,

Moving to the warmer state of QLD and looking to buy a boat that I can take out through Moreton bay, up to Cape moreton and maybe out up to about 15km's offshore...for example going out to browns mountain or the fads from botany.

Spent my childhood growing up and fishing out of a small 4.2m mono hull with my dad, but as i grew older found it was a bit small and limited our options.

I'm thinking a twin hull (like a shark cat) around the 4.75 - 5.5m mark, with about 100 - 130hp on the back.

Whats everyone's opinion on shark cat type boats over monohulls up to 15km's offshore? Any preference..i hear a lot of people knocking twin hulls, but i'm not sure if they have ever driven one out in the ocean so i'm taking what they say with a grain of salt?

  6. Went fishing at the cooks river breakwall yesterday. Had a quick flick around the bridge with some small silver paddle tail soft plastics but got nothing. Also moved up and down the bank for a little while but didn't even get a bump.

I've hit that spot many times and always returned with NADA...i think i'm going to give up fishing there and work on the georges or other spots in botany.

Has anyone else been having any consistent luck lately? i know it's winter, but damn its hard fishing lately.

    cheers,

    Jenx
