  1. Well after some contemplating this morning Watto, Ryan (my son) & I met up at the boat ramp hoping the spots of rain would stay away!

    Woohoo they did.

It wasnt long before Watto had the first bass for "our" season, a little fella around 20cm. We drifted a bit more watching bass jump out of the water trying to smash our Baby Vibe lures in all sorts of colours.

Next thing you know Watto has a rod buckler - woohoo after some good runs in comes a 28cm model. Well not to be out done my only fish for the day went 33cm A few more were landed & inbetween untangling Ryan line i started the retrieve again & lost another big FELLA around that 30cm mark.

Anyway we headed back to the ramp with Ryan in tears "as he didnt get a fish on his rod", but with a slap on the back & a keep ya chin up from Watto - all tears were gone (so is your green baby vibe Sean)

  2. Mate have heard of minimal reports around Lion Island & Pittwater.

I have only ever caught them on SP's about 5" long with one of those hooks that lie under the body - sorry I will post pics later.

    Hope this helps a bit.

Good luck & happy fathers day to you (& everyone)

  3. Which part of the Nepean River can you fish from ? Anywhere along it ?

Just that I have never been before .. mainly fish saltwater ...

Is freshwater fishing a lot different to estuary fishing in terms of tackle, baits, style etc.

Appreciate any kinda info you are willing to divulge.

    :1prop:

Mate you can get the suckers anywhere, pretty much.

I have only just been biten by the bass bug so cant devulge to much - cause i dont know :074:

But i am sure your questions will be answered in due course.

Next time you head up this way let us know and we may be able to organise a few of us down the river

  4. Well after preparing the boat in the rain last night, I assured my deckie that we would wake to star lit skies (phew!!!)

So after heading out past Juno to Barrenjoey it was decided that we head back in as there was a swell, but it was the kids we were thinking of...lol

Back past Juno we find a nice little beach anchor & burley just off that & for the next 2 hours we pull in 6 flatties (kept 2)

Tried everywher else after that for zippo., oh except for Mr smiley.

The kids had a ball & the fish in each pic was caught by that person (notice I am not there) & CHelsea wasnt too keen on holding the fish

Great day out - bring on the warmer weather

  6. Hi all,

I will put something up, as some of you know my fishing has been very very limited lately.

As planned we were at parsley bay by 630 to find no-one on the ramp (gotta love mid week fishing), so we headed out & as we turned around Juno we find NO SWELL :yahoo:, so off we go in search of something (i dont have GPS).

We got to about 40M-42M of water my mate gets his line in and the bloody :mad3: wind springs up, DAMN YOU SEABREEZE DAMN YOU, as i constantly watch the water & the wind my mate yells out I'm on, so I think well we will sit here for abit. I get my line in the water & all of a sudden i feel wait on my rod but no movement, I'm sceptical, but as i wind up i start to feel something - up comes a just undersized snapper!!!! I was stoked - this is gonna be a good day. My mate had pulled up a 15cmish flatty so we knew we were in the "right" spot. Unfortunately the wind made it very choppy so I erred on the safer side of caution & decided to head back to Lion Island where we stuffed around for NOTHING .

We then tried the hungry beach area, then around the corner from Juno - looking for some flatties or anything, my mate picks up a 33cm flattie. Then a drift around Dangar but nothing.

Time to call it a day - no fish but still a good day, we couldnt believe how quick the wind picked up though!

    BTW, all fish were released.

I had trouble determining what sort of flatty it was (the one we caught near Juno), it was very dark in colour, can someone shed some light?

  7. Its too cold !

I wont be out of bed until 7am, then getting ready for work.

Where are you thinking of heading Roy?

I havent been offshore since mid May so cant give any hints, sorry.

    Rod

Rod - head out to Barrenjoey then maybe head south a bit, just where ever the day takes us mate. HOpe i can report for a change

K - very lucky indeed, but you never know what can happen when you ask the boss!!!

Clauds - yeah felling fine :yahoo::yahoo: i'm so excited just to get out again

  8. Hi all,

Just got a late call up from a mate - I am getting the boat ready tonight and heading out to Broken Bay etc.

Any one out there give me a buzz on the radio.

Hope to be at Parsley Bay ramp 6.30 am

  9. "Bath Stubby" as it's not the full bottle

    :Funny-Post:

I will be towing Paul up the river come bass time - otherwise we will be waiting ALL night for him to get to the narrows :074:
