  1. Can either of u recommend a good brand of circle hooks? And is that what they actually say on the pack? Also what size would you generally use to target bream of this size?

Oh and one last question.. Do u still strike/set the hook when using these?

I was using a 1/0 circle, at this size I don't think brand will matter that much and they will be marked as circle hooks on the pack.

As for do you strike when using circle hooks? No, just let the fish hook itself.

  2. I headed down to the Georges river again today. I thought I'd try a new spot.

I found a serious bream nursery hole. Baits did not last longer than a few minutes. And I'm glad I was using circle hooks. I'm sure I missed a few but I'm glad everything I caught left to swim another day.

  3. One of my favorite l/based spots in winter for jew on plastics.

That was before the pro buy out. :biggrin2:

Fish the same spot through May to August & you will

    find some very good fishing.

    Cheers,

    Grant.

    Thanks for the tip!

    Cheers

  4. Hi guys.

Went down to the local stretch of river this arvo and sent out some peeled prawns. The result was on just legal bream in 2 hours. (sorry no photo, I forgot to pick up the phone off the charger before I left)

  5. The last time a friend and I went by there were no parking/stopping signs on the northern side you mentioned. Assuming you've parked there have you run into any problems with fines?

The no parking signs are a recent addition (thank you government). People, including me still park there and I have not seen or heard of anyone fined. If you don't want to take the risk, park on the southern side, south bound and you can then chose to fish the northern or southern beaches (there is a small southern beach, just be careful walking the last few meters).

  6. Hit the Georges again today.

Only had a couple of hours, but got 3 under size bream (all went back and swam away healthy. I'm a big fan of circle hooks!) . Hope that means they are breading well in our east coast estuaries.

  7. Mate, parking is the trick for Alfords. (if you are driving)

I fish there land based at times so if you want a local "guide" PM me.

Otherwise there is a parking bay north bound on the northern side and some parking on the southern side south and north bound. If you know where to go you can also access it via Henry Lawson drive Padstow.

    Cheers

  8. Hi all,

Today was too nice a day to spend in front of a computer screen. (the irony that I'm ending it in front of a computer is not lost on me...)

So after lunch, I drove down to Cattle Duffers. Threw out a couple of green, peeled prawns on hooks and the following decided they wanted to say hello. Both Taylor swam off to bite another day.

(I hope the attached photo's are visible, the preview is not showing them???)

    Cheers,

  9. There is no real parking at the Sandy Point ramp. If you're South of the George's River it may be an option for you. But if you are on the north side of the George's I'd suggest the GRNP ramp or the Picnic Point boat shed ramp.
