  1. Your right windy they did stock manly dam many years ago with trout. We caught 4 in a couple of weeks, tiny rainbows about 5inchs long. Haven't seen one since unfortunately. I thought they should have been able to survive in there it's definitely cold enough in the deeper parts for them to last the summer but I guess not. Caught a few yellas and silvers in there over the years too. My local haunt I grew up around the corner from the dam and have fished it religiously since I was about 2 with my old man. Great spot so close to home :)

  2. Mark..

I went to the show yesterday and looked at the same thing.

One difference that swayed me was the depth shading .

I do most of my fishing in Botany Bay for Jews and flatties.

I noticed that the c-map has only one colour shading from 0-15 metres, so the

Majority of the bays floor looks the same colour blue.

As for the navionics ,you can see the difference between say 2m and say a 5m hole,as it is shaded a different shade of blue.

This may not be a big thing to most , but makes finding fish hidey holes a lot easier.

You don't have to keep reading the numbers off the map, just look for colour changes in the depths.

Mind you this was for the navionics gold and c-map equivalent.

The guy at the c-map stand said , maybe they will fix this with their next update in 2014, but will cost $100 for that update !!

Needless to say , I went for navionics, but that was my personal preference.

As for detail and markers etc ,they were both very similar.

Fantastic thanks for that information mate that's exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for. I'm like you mate and spend most of my time inshore so the Navionics Shading seems to be a worthwhile advantage for me too. Thanks again for that big help mate. :)

  3. Thanks for the replies, I'm pretty sure that Lowrance HDS touch are now compatible with both but I haven't had much to do with them. Would love to be able to get to the boat show but got way to much on this weekend unfortunately. I'll have to do some more investigation.

  4. Hey everyone,

Looking at getting a card for my HDS12 and wondering if anyone has had experience with these cards. Looking at either the Navionics Platinum or the Top of the line C-Map. Has anyone had a play with both?

    Cheers,

    Mark :)

  5. A Soron STX60 will take pretty much bang on 300yds of 20lb woven braid. If you fish with a thin diameter line you could get close to the same of 30. I use spiderwire code red and it takes almost 300 of that. Hope that helps mate. Cracking reel you got there I own a swag of them and they have landed some serious monsters. :) Remember, the way you spool the reel also affects how much line it will take.

  6. Scratchie. what a champ :) Doing his bit to rid the sea of the scum jackets. 3 less out of how many? :)

    Chris, We launch off Bellambi.

Mark O, Do they come in a tub like the crazy legs?

Does anyone know if the crazy legs work well on Snappers?

    G'day Formosan,

No they don't come in a tub unfortunately. Keep your eyes peeled in the next couple of months as there are 4 new colours on the way as well as 4 new Jerkshad colours and 5 new colours in the Squid Vicious range. They look the goods! Also new colours in minnows, shrimp, ripple shads and jigging grubs plus a couple of new surprises! :)

  7. Hi guys sorry about the late reply. I think a little fresh water isn't a problem to spread it out they are a water based scent. The Gulp spray is fine to mix as it is actual gulp juice just with added scents too. The good thing about gulp is that they absorb other water based scents really well so you really only need to apply extra scent if you want to after you take the bait out of the container. I don't think it's worth the risk of loosing a whole tub by adding anything other than what is meant for them.

  8. Hey guys!

Purefishing recently released "Gulp! Recharge" it's in a 236ml bottle and retails about the same price as a packet of plastics. It is the same liquid as what is in a tub of gulp alive so different from the spray bottles which have extra scents in them. The global demand has been massive for this stuff and because of this the supply has been a little slow coming out of the US. Expecting some shipments to arrive in the next 2 weeks so hopefully all the stores will have their back orders fulfilled. If your local store doesn't have any in stock but carries Gulp they can order it in for you. I wouldn't recommend keeping your gulps in anything other than the juice that's meant for them as they can spoil. I've seen people try to mix stimulate and other products with a tubs of gulp and lost the lot. Food for thought.. And fish! ;)

    Cheers,

    Mark O :)

  9. We don't bring that particular model into Australia mate. Only the lg model with 3 long trays and a mixed model with 2 mediums on one side and 4 like the one you want down the other. If you want them they should be available from your local Purefishing stockist. They can order it in for you if they don't carry it in stock :)

    Cheers,

    Mark.

  10. Slingshot is good bang for your buck, the Veritas has had some issues but is a good rod also IF looked after carefully.

What do you mean the Veritas has had some issues? They are Abu Garcia's best selling rod in Aus and have had very little issues with them at all? The Slingshot can't be beaten at the price they retail for definitely good bang for your buck! :)

  11. iPilot is the best investment you will make buddy I am in love with mine. Being able to lock onto a spot at just concentrate on the fishing makes things so much easier and they work a treat!
