  1. Hi all,

I was feeling like going for a fish soon, I have a 14ft runabout and was wondering if anyone has some spots where it would good for a boat this size and produces some nice fish. Anywhere from Sydney to South Nowra, am willing to travel a little bit.

    Thank you, Michael.

  2. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the shimano Sedona is hard to go by for value and performance, perhaps in a 4000 size (different to daiwa 4000 size). Match that up with a shimano catana in a 3-6kg and some braid.... The lot will set you back about $200 or less.

Thank you, I will definitely look into it and hopefully get out fishing

  3. Hey mate try Cowan creek launch from apple tree bay and fish the first couple of bays up the the river is dead calm most of the time. Got Jews and bream on blue/slimy mackerel from the fish shop lately. Also lake maqurie around the wangi holiday park for bream, trevaly, salmon it' easy to get away from chop and wind. Same bait.

Thanks ill try that when I get the chance. Really appreciate it

  4. Hi all,

My son and I are thinking of taking our boat down to Mallacoota Inlet in Victoria. We will most like go sometime between july-August. We would appreciate it if anyone on this site could give us some information about the inlet, where to fish in the inlet, lures/baits to use and what to look out for (sandbars etc.). We would probably go down for about 3 days or so, so plenty of time to catch some fish. Ive heard it fishes good all year round but would like to make sure before heading down.

    Thanks, Michael

  5. Hey guys,

its been a while since I have been on but just been so busy.

I have recently purchased 4.7m runabout and have used it a couple of times in St Georges Basin on the south coast. This is the first boat I have owned and I am having a great time with it. the only problem is I don't know where to take it. Obviously I will not be going outside fishing, but if anyone could give me some locations that produce nice fish I will hugely appreciate it. Willing to try and catch anything.

    Thank you

  6. Hi all, just wondering if anyone could share some information about clifton gardens. im taking the wife and kids (15 year old son and 19 year old daughter) who love fishing. never been there myself so have no idea what its like but have heard good reports on it. what do you catch there, what times are best, where to fish there and what bait etc. they are willing to get up early and hopefully you guys can help me out.

  7. Hi all, i am heading to garie beach to do some fishing, but read that there is a place near it called wottamolla. If anyone could tell me how to get there and what i can catch there, it would be hugely appreciated. Ive also heard that it is safe and sheltered. Any information is good.

    Thanks Michael

  8. New second hand ?

    Which engine

    Which trailer

    What extras

Good little river and bay boat for two anglers

new and i have been looking a several different sites, all different types of engines and trailers with the package. mainly a mercury or mariner. on the quintrex site the boat doesnt seem to come with much only an engine no trailer but on hunts marine it comes with a 30hp yamaha and trailer (doesnt say which brand). the standard equipment it comes with are; Transducer bucket, Bungs (40mm X 2), Fuel Tank Rack (Carpeted), Glove Box with Drink Holders, Bow Handles, Carpeted Part Floor, Underfloor Flotation, Transom Handles (2), Front Deck, Anchor Gusset, Windscreen Grabrail, Windscreen 3 Piece, Bench Seat (Rear), Skipper Seat Pedestal, Plastic Seats, Mechanical Steering, Steering Wheel, 3 Year Warranty. what do you think?

  9. Hi all,

i was looking to buy a boat for me and my son to have some fun in, in our price range and saw the Quintrex 420 estuary angler and it looked pretty good. It is basically all we need, but i was wondering if anyone knew if it is worth the money? only about $15,000. does it ride well etc.

    Thanks, Michael.

  10. I went up to coffs harbour last friday and my friend decided we should go fishing for a bit, so of course i jumped at the chance. :yahoo: we started off by catching the bait while also noticing some dolphins swimming by which was a nice site. we then headed off around 13 kms offshore, usually they go further but the sea wasnt very kind so we got to the spot and started trollying. 10-15mins later zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz we were on and my son was given the rod and the fight had started. Ive got to say it was a fair fight from the tuna, but he was determined to catch his first "big" fish. once he had reeled it in he was so happy, but for everyone else, well it was only him who actually caught one, ended up being around 28kg. here is a pic of my son and his friend and his friends father.looks bigger in real life than it does here, but still a good pic

  11. Hi all, does anyone know how Bass pt and hill60 are fishing at the moment. Thinking about heading down in the next month or two if i get some time, would it be worth going or would it just be a time waster???

  12. thanks everyone, im thinking about going down to bass point or hill60 in the next month or two if the weather is fine, dont like how its been lately but looks like its starting to fine up... hopefully

  13. Mate, below are some of the landbased spots we usually go with my mates. These spots are good spots depending on the time of the year. We go fishing all year round.

    Beach

    Wanda

    Garie

    Stanwell pk

    Rocks

    Little bay

    Hill60

    Bass pt

Mate please be very careful when you go fishing off rocks. It can be very dangerous. Never go fishing alone and always check the conditions. Better be safe than sorry.

thanks mate and what fish do u catch at these spots. I have heard alot about hill60 but never really thought of going, some other fishos have told me that it can get really crowded there.
