  1. Hahaha nah nah mr.e.d Im with ya on that one

ordered some just thought I'd drop that comment :)

I had to get them cause I'd be the bloke that misses out on the big one while everyone else hooks up. Lol

Lol yeah you can't be that person, hopefully they're as thick as last year and you'll get em on broom sticks!

  2. Hi All,

Been doing a bit of LBG fishing recently, using a 8000 stradic and a 13ft Tcurve, but would like to take it further and get an overhead setup. Are the TLD 30 ( or similar) suitable for this or are they a boat reel? There is also a 2 speed, is this good on the rocks or again only for boats. Ill prob match up to a wilson live fibre, but would like opinions on reels...

    Thanks in advance....

Mate it all depends on what you're targeting, live baiting for kings the tld20

    Is perfect I think

  3. Its at Murrays Beach at the end of Jervis Bay Rd in the National Park which entry costs 11 dollars for 48 hrs from time of purchase. There is no pontoon to get on and off as it collapsed a while ago and has not been replaced and there is no beach to pull up on, its all rocks.

    Cheers

Yeahh mate that's the one oh really :/ that's a Shame he also told me its a top spot for squid.

    Thanks a lot anyway mate

  4. g'day guys

I'm gonna be heading down to JB for a week with the family for Christmas taking the boat down with me =D

Just wondering if there's any good boat ramps around there I know there's one at culburra but I was told about one near Bowen island I forgot where the guy told me just wondering if anyone's knows which one I'm talking about.

  5. Good report mate well done on the kings!!

was out there thursday aswell plenty of kings around was armed with yakkas and got some nice squid but they just didnt touch anything! i was downrigging and still nothing :/ they were following the bait just couldn't entice em ahh wells there's always a next time

By any chance were you in a centre console ?

    Cheers Su

  6. Great report mate, the boys must of had a blast! The kings there aren't shy and it gets tricky with shallow waters they go straight for the reef when you give em stick.

Trevs are good enough to eat mate like DTF said just bleed em straight away. I just fillet em and deep fry them throw some chopped up garlic.

    Cheers su

  7. a better option is 10mm plastic or nylon a cheap cutting board and cut that up or come down to my factory and i'll cut one for you for free as i have a full sheet cheers gary

Thanks Gary I wish I had looked back earlier :/ I already went and bought the plywood but thanks anywayz appreciate it mate

    Cheers

  8. Hi Su,

A while ago I fitted one to a Bertram 25 and I used a piece of marine ply about 8mm thick and then a piece of marine grade aluminium sheet and secured everything through the two sheets. Probably overkill but it worked great--never moved!

    cheers

thanks a lot bookwa I went and got some marine grade plywood and sealed it with lacquer gonna install it on Monday for next weekend can't wait!!

  9. G'day guys I have finally received my Scotty downrigger mount and in the installation Manual it says to add a wooden plate under the gunnel to distribute the weight.

Just wondering if anyone has added the wood under the gunnel and how thick should the wood be?

    Cheers

    Su
