[Howley Park Blackfish]

Gave Howley Park a go with my mate Jack (BREAM boy) for quite a few hours in the hot weather. Started off by burleying hard with cabbage and sand and lots of it! We ended up using bits of cabbage as bait aswell as there wasnt and decent weed at the spot.. A couple of minutes in and my float went down and brought up a small blackie.

Much later on we were still persisting and then Jacks went down and fast, lifted the rod tip up and with some luck on his side managed to land a 40cm blackfish on 6lb leader which broke when it was up. Couple of hours later and mine goes down and snap everything is gone with my good float drifting away all that complicated rig for nothing and with further inspection i figured it was my knot.. Im an idiot i tied braid straight to a swivel thinking itll be right but no im never taking a risk again!

Anyway good day out but really for about 6hrs of persistence in 30 degree heat for 2 blackies i was quite disappointed just need to find out how to maximise my catch rate!
