  1. There are trawlers everywhere in broken bay... i was talking to someone at the ramp last week who was fishing up near bar point...he said that a trawler was going around their boat in circles...its ridiculous what they are doin there.

  2. Ive heard that both the ford and holden 4WD's are a bit sketchy. Stick with toyota or nissan and you cant go wrong. A pathfinder would be a good sized car for the boat you are towing....or upsize to a cruiser or a patrol if you want to go off road or get a bigger boat in the future. Good luck anyway with what ever you choose.

  3. Lol.... thats all we have ever caught in the hawkesbury when fishing with bigger baits... sure we have caught some flatties, tailor and bream with smaller baits......but shovel noses, rays, and eels far out number jewies.

  4. Shovel Nose fillets were $16.99 / kg at Newcastle Coop yesterday. Many people love them but I don't think baked is the way to go. Better to fry them in a batter to prevent the dryness.

I bake them in a soupy sauce.... it cant dry out like that...

  5. I cook em up in some soy, lemon, chilli, garlic, ginger, sesame seed oil and some seasoning..... cook it up in the oven in a dish, and when ready serve it with the juices poured over. You can cook just about any fish like that and it will taste pretty damn good....besides australian salmon.

  6. 3500rpm should be cruising along on the plane..there is something wrong with the prop setup or something. Have you taken the motor to hueys to let him look at it?? That's what i'd be doing...its also in hueys best intrest to look at it too.

    Good report les...

Good to see a bit of father son rivalry going on... That little one looks good for a fish tank... I dont know, is there a size limit on them??

I'm gonna have to get the boat down to the nepean to chase some bass...i've never fished any fresh water rivers before, even though the nepean is a bout a 15 minute drive away. How do you think a 26 footer would go down the upper parts of the river??? Would it be to big??
