  1. Johno44 Jr with his 1.025 kg Luderick :)post-23106-068243100 1338375978_thumb.jpg

This past Sunday, Royce & Paul took my son (Johno44 Jr) and I on a great fishing adventure. It was both of our first time fishing for Luderick and just let me say it was a brilliant day. These guys are so passionate and about Black fishing, that I think it's somewhat contagious. Jr now wants a Luderick setup for his birthday and said it was his best day fishing ever.

Thanks so very much to our new found friends ;)

  3. Hi Everyone, Well the weekend was definitely a huge success with me being able to meet up with the likes of luderick_Angler and Scrubby with the hope of successfully catching these elusive fish. In addition I also met two other raiders who were also eager to be introduced to the fine art in Luderick fishing Johno44 and son.

I have to say that these two guys have a wealth of Information and watching them and listening to what they say is imperative to being successful or not. The technical lessons and reasons behind what they do are all aimed at being able to locate fish and most importantly catch fish. Fishing the right depth and having the right gear.

Well after the formal introductions and Lessons about rigging… We were all eager and ready to get fishing. The morning was rather slow in that Luderick_Angler was the only one to put 1 very impressive fish in the bag, and having only had a possible two downs between the 4 of us meant that the fish just did not want to play as per schedule. No Matter, I eventually got a down without even knowing, as I was talking away with Scrubby and then he says to me, you have a down. I'd turned looking at the water and yip the float was nowhere to be seen. I wound up the line and sure enough there was some head shakes and a decent bend in the rod. Easy does it and yip we have our first fish. It was very quiet after that and not much action was being had by anyone but then after the next hour or so we all had a window of opportunity where we caught and dropped a number of really good sized luderick. Hmmm Scrubbys netting ability will definitely need more practice…. Hahaha We will have to ensure you get more opportunities on our next outing hahaha. Anyway the time was roughly about 11:00am when the fish were on the chew and soon slowed down by 13:00pm. Anyway with us all thoroughly enjoying the outing Luderick_angler left us to fish a little more while he bleed and cleaned the fish. What service.

With a few fish for a feed, I was really happy with that and nothing beats fresh fish for dinner which the kids, wife and I enjoyed.

Thanks again Luderick_angler and Scrubby for a fantastic day out and I hope to see you again soon on another outing, besides I still owe you for the great outing. As for Johno44, I hope to see you again for another great session.

Hmmmm I might have to convert from Squid to them blackies…..

    Cheers Squid_Jig

Absolutely fantastic day thanks to Royce, Scrubby, Squid Jig. Great fishermen, great friends :)

  4. You have a great sense of humour to take pics at a time of stress.

If you need to get out and about on the Bay this weekend and your trailer and boat are out of action, please come for a fish in my tinny as I really would like someone to show me how to catch a Kingfish. I'm a newbie to salt water fishing and I really need some locals to show me the ropes.

    Glad no one was hurt.

    Take care!

  5. Awesome, something I must do isfish New york State for the massive browns that reside in those streams then head for the Colorado region, last stop Tierra Del Feugo.........trout trout and more trout

I'll be in Colorado for 6 weeks in June & July. Have family there who are big on fishing. So excited.

  6. If you want to learn about luderick, Paul and myself usually hit the estuaries aboutthis time of year Port, Georges and Harbour. Dend me a PM if interested, what did you fish the rivers for over there by the way/

I am very interested! Will send you a PM. thanks for being so prompt.

I lived in Utah, California, and Oregon. I used to fly fish for Brownd and Rainbow Trout. Would fish Provo River and on occasion the Rivers in Idaho. I loved hiking up into the Uintas Mountains to fish in high altitude lakes. My husband and I had our Honeymoon in Alaska where I landed a 78 & 67 lb Halibut. We also did a lot of fishing for King Salmon in Homer Alaska.

    Kind regards,

    Johno

  7. Hello fellow raiders,

Most of my fishing has been done on rivers in the USA where I went to university. I would really like to get into fishing local estuaries (Port Hacking & Botany Bay) and also some deep sea. I am pretty much a novice in salt water and want to really improve so I can help my son who has caught the fishing bug (must be in the blood). Any help would be much appreciated.

    Your name: Johno (my nickname)

Your Location: Sutherland Shire (Port Hacking & Botany Bay). Will travel to fish!

Fishing technique: Kingfish, Jew Fish, Snapper, Whiting, Bream, Blackfish, Flathead. I want to learn as much as possible.

Availability: Monday, Wednesday (mornings), Saturday, Sunday

Preferred location: Port Hacking, Botany Bay, & local FAD's

Provide your own gear? Have small stuff for estuary but would like to get a nice rig for kingy's etc

Provide your own boat? Yes - Brooker 410 fisherman (Tinny)

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind Regards,

    Johno
