  4. i love the idea and look of this such a cool rig for flats fishing, and Im thinking it doesnt get blown around by the wind all that much either?

    great rig

Hi bassboy888 you are spot on not getting blown around because of the low profile i can hold the thing true by useing the electric and keep it if i want stationary against wind or current good for sight casting which we have been doing with jews just lately with great success useing a 1/4oz jig head 6lb line and leader and a nipper as bait best just lately a 1mt fish a real buzz when you see then hit your bait Cheers Tight Lines Gyro

  5. Hi there a lot of people have said why didnt i buy a boat the reason is i have a stable fishing platform that 2 blokes can stand and cast because the beam is 2420mm wide you can stand on one gunnel and it does not move it has 2x hummingbird 587hd sounder plotters 1 in each hull plus a kill tank in each hull or live bait tank the outboard is to get me to where i want to go rather quickly and then i use the electic to cast the shallows because it has a draft of 170mm which gets me over most sand flats plus you can pull 4 pins and you have 2 seperate kayaks both set up with quick hitch motor mounts to take electrics blokes who have fished on it reckon they prefer it to normal boat boat because of its no noise approach with no wave slap anyway thats why i built it if anyone coming up this way they are quite welcome to come for a run in it Tight Lines Gyro

  6. Hi bartdude i find a rig which i use has caught jew is a 6oz bean sinker on the main line to a swivel and 5 foot of leader with a 9/0 gamagatsu hook lower your rig to the bottom to the sinker hits and wind it up 6 foot try to use live bait slimeys i find the best then yellow tail the secret is to pin the the hook high and just behind the head then take a sharp knife and from the tail on one side to 40mm towards the head make a very fine slice this allows blood to flow ever so slowly from that area always found it a jew taker hope this helps Tight Lines Gyro

  7. Hi tunastrike it may not look that good to you but each to there own if you you knew how many fish it has caught off it you would be suprised like the other night 2 jew 750 & 1 a metre but i respect your comment Tight lines Gyro

    Thanks Kevin,

I agree it's wrong and have a lot of documentation here. The big jewies are all female breeders. I understand how these people think: short-term gain. And where there are kids and mortgages, they are after the quick buck. But as you say, it's in THEIR interests not to target these fish and wipe-out the big breeders. It's their future too. One haul probably represents 50 years of angler catches of a lifetime.

I'm raising the issue now with the intention of following it through with fisheries managers and authorities.

    tight lines,

Dear David i am sending this email about the jewfish and other so called by catch caught by mid north coast pros .The fisherman are now going out of their way to target these fish because of the low price of mullet . These fisherman are absolutely annihilating these species. Where we used to catch travelling blackfish and bream regularly at this time of year there are just none about. As for jewfish they have been hammering them for the at least 3 years the reefs we would regularly catch these fish are now barren. I feel these fisherman should not be allowed to be able to use beach haul nets other than for mullet . Fisheries soon winge about the amount of fish the recs catch but why don't they do something about these blokes who are stuffing the fishing for all of us.

You say that these fisherman have to make a living but what's the good if there are no fish left for anyone which will happen because it has already started.

    Regards Kevin

  10. Michelle & I will be fishing on Fri - that way we can beat all the boating traffic from the weekend. Nice HIGH tides first thing in the morning, peaking at about 9.30am so we thought we'd be on the water before 8am (Michelle will be driving up that morning.)

Usual put in spot, under the big tree!
