  1. Hi everyone,

Long time no post or fish. Decided to restore my old quintrex cruise about. Noticed that the fibreglass deck has broken off from aluminium joiner to the hull. Was wondering if anybody has attempted to pull these apart, ie the fibreglass deck from the aluminium hull?jymedaga.jpgnu4e8una.jpg

  2. Heading up to qld for a couple of weeks with the fam in tow. 1st stop is Coffs Harbour and last night after watching the chooks destroy the chihuahuas and all the kids were asleep, I ducked out for a quick sesh with some squid from the co op. Best beach sesh ever!!! Landed 6 schoolies from 60 -80 cm all were released. Was only out there for an hour, which made it even sweeter. Conditions weren't the best either as the wind was blowing moderate onshore and the rain was pelting down. Only took a couple of pics as I didn't want to get my fone soaked.

    Cheers.post-2325-136585936823_thumb.jpgpost-2325-136585938907_thumb.jpg

  3. Sad to hear it. My condolences to the family.

Sorry to say this but more people will die rock fishing this year and the next and so on.

Before I bought my boat, i used to do a lot of fishing off the rocks, the number of times I've told people off for wearing thongs or fishing in places where it was just way to dangerous, lost count of. The only answer is more education, especially to all our non speaking Aussie friends. I fear that one day all fishing off rocks will be banned.

May all those people that lost their lives to our great sport rest in peace.

  4. Yeah mate squid love live yakkas, but pinning them thru the tail won't make a difference, they'll still get em. They haven't got teeth but they do have a beak. The bigger the squid, the bigger the beak! If you ever had a livey come back with the back of his neck/head missing, it's a squid!

  5. Thanks guys,

Last night was insane, all I had with me was some stale bread which i used for a bit of burley and bait. Sounded up a heap of bait, anchored over them and caught yakkas, the tailor were easily biting thru the 6lb. So out comes the 30lb handline and strips of yakka to catch the bigger tailor. Then they were stripped and sent to the bottom were the schoolies were swarming but were biting very timidly. Leaving the rods in the holder wasn't working, had to fish with only 1 and feel the bite then strike!

How did you go today Tom?

  6. Don't give up on the livies just like that champ, keep at it and you'll get them. Balmoral wharf is good anytime of day/night. Berluy with bread and a touch of tuna oil and they will come. Fish with 4 pound line, mince or slivers of pilchard, no lead if you can and size 12 long shank and you'll get em.

Trolling is a different ball game....

    Good luck!

  7. Sitting here soaking a squid strip, live yakka & slab of yakka. Got this schoolie about an hour ago, he went around the anchor rope the cheeky bugger. Going to hang to at least the change to see if I can get a bigger model.... aguvune6.jpg
