  1. Exactly what boattart said . But if I see a marlin come up on a lure , when he is about to bite it I back the throddle off so the hook go in his mouth then I throddle to set the hooks. Its got me a better hook up rate doing it that way then just letting take the lure..

  2. absolutely its just a dead weight staying down deep it the current. when they are alive if turn there head they will swim up but when there dead and you cant turn there head its just dead weight in the current almost impossible to bring up a solid fish unless your fishing reel big tackle

  3. haha must of been a blue..happens to the best of us the problem with the blue is that at the beginning of the fight you have to gain as much line as you can and make it harder for them to go down deep. once they go down down deep and you have been fighting for a while they usually die and trying to get line back is like trying to get a car up. so the point is in the early stages of thr fight chase him down quick. I have had 2 die on me and I jave learnt my lessons.

Hi scratchie I was also out there today ina red 620 quintrex we ended up 3.3.2 and ended up leaving at 1 oclock du we to having to drive back to Sydney . we got all 3 bites one after another . we put the spread out and with in 5 minutes we were on hard work mate fighting fish with minimal breaks but all in all great day out. we fished sunday as well and for both days we went 5.5.3 we didnt stick around the other boats we were in anout 250 fathoms

  5. just a quick one went out today pointing towards heatons the water was blue temp got to 23.3 but we went zeros . but the long liners are the so must mean something. . conditions were terrible we were getting smashed all day but rather be there gettinf smashe s then wishing I went out..
