  1. Great Story,

my first fishing experience was useing a stick and line and hook found tangled around the rock, a piece of bread i spent 10 minutes looking for end result a puffer fish and then a mullet... haven't looked back since ..... Ahhhh to be a kid again good on you for taking the time to fulfilling your kids hair brained idea of catching fish with a stick... Most parents would just dismissed it and walked away.....

  2. just bought another branzino because i just think its the hottest looking reel on the market. but this one will never be used and it'll head straight for the trophy cabinet.

are there reel stands that i could buy so it'll sit up right?

Make your own if you have a broken rod....

  3. Definately if you have a variety of different types of cubes this does help, in fact thats how the cubing technique evolved when the netters draged in there nets they seen the yellowfin feeding on the different types of fish falling out of the nets and when the nets were being sorted the by catch being thrown over the side. Another good technique I feel can make the difference is cube at the same rate and then every half hour or so stop the cubing only for a minute or so or depending how the current is racing and the intervals you have been cubing, and what this does, it makes the shy fish that may be hanging down the back of the trail out of range of your baits, become confused in what has happened to the steady food source and usually with there predatory habit they will proceed a lot faster up the trail to investigate. Like Warnie does we use the trap and other species of fish for cubing and WA for our baits. The day before we head out we take out our cubes and baits and let thaw overnight.

    Cheers Dennis

Welcome Reel Game !!!! Nice to have you onboard...

i have the same type of pot, works great durable I think this ones has lasted me over four years ( last one got taken by a shark.. ), Give it a few shakes every now and then and it works a treat.

I bought my last one from the boat show but any good tackle/boat shop will have then..

    Godd luck

  7. Well done... I still remember my first fishing trip.. I caught a blowup fish on a two foot stick and a piece of line I found on the rock when everyone else was swimming... have never looked back and I'm glad I haven't I have met a fair few nice people fishing and had some great times with both my dad and brother over the years...

Can't wait to take my son out maybe this summer, he is already a pro on the boat can't take him off it when I'm working on it..

  8. G'day Penguin, unfortunately i'm off to Jervis Bay again, trying to get amongst the tuna we found last weekend. Its a real shame to miss this social, especially as its at my home ground :mad3: Any idea as to what time it will wind up? Might be able to make it for a beer at day's end. Hope you all have some stories to tell.

    Regards

mate did you give your new rod a go on the kings....if so how did it go... looks the goods and it makes it that little bit more satisfying when you catch them on the rod you built from scratch...
