  1. Ross, Myself, my dad and my dads mate should be able to attend unless something pops up..

Please save 3 spots on the list for us

Hope to see you all soon

    Keep on Fishin'

    Cheers :yahoo: Matt

Ross, Thanks for organising another social your tops mate

  2. I fish for kingies almost everytime I go out. Since the banning of the kingfish traps they have come back in good numbers.

I'm not too sure about fishing too light. I like to land the kings I hook!! I never fish lighter than 30lb braid and normally have 50lb and up to 80lb braid. I always use a fluoro carbon leader depending of the bottom-normally 50-100lb as this stuff is the most abrasion resistent stuff there is.

I like to downrig for kingies as you are then hunting them down and not waiting for them to come to you. Also slow trolling livies on sinkers or floaters work real good. You'd be amazed where these fish turn up sometimes.

BUT the best advice when it comes to kings is to become good at catching squid! :1prop:

    cheers Kelvin

Ok thanks for that Advice Kelvin :biggrin2:

Hope to hear from you again soon

    Cheers Matt

  6. Hey Guys...Matt here....

Ummm i have been King :1fishing1: a few times and only had success when i went out with one of my dads mates who seems to know what he is doing... However when i go out with my dad and we try to replicate what he does when we go out with him we never turn up with much..(if anything at all) :1badmood:

    SO

i was wondering if anyone has any GENERAL advice or TIPS on how to catch me some Kingies :biggrin2:

If anyone is able to help me with this topic i would be much appr3ciated as would my dad

So give me a :yahoo: with some advice and tips and pretty soon i will hopefully be :074: when i am waist deep in Kingies :biggrin2:

    Cheers Matt

  7. Hmmmm Yes Rzep....Tunks Park does get very busy...But perhaps if we can select a time when it is not likley for many people to be at the boat ramp...Perhaps on a weekday (depending on the availability of the fishraiders in reguards to their jobs).... or at a certian time in the day when it is not likley to be as busy... :yahoo:

However i will leave it up to the other fishraiders to apply their input into the thoughts of the next social.. :biggrin2:

Oh and did anyone else have any questions about Tunks Park because i really do feel that it is a very good spot and easily accesible

    Cheers Matt

  8. Hey guys...

My name is Matt i am a new member of Fishraider and i think it is a great site with a great bunch of guys as members...I attended the Jewfish social at Parsley Bay and thought it was FANTASTIC  I have put in my vote for the next social and i am looking foward to attending...

However if i may make a suggestion...My dad (Bloosgotaboat) and i went out for Kingies from Tunks Park with a mate...We were out there for about 5-6hrs and caught about 9 Kingies or so (we were using a downrigger)..It was an amazing experience and i will not forget it and Tunks Park would be an ideal place to get together and have a chat and a  with all the other Fishraiders :yahoo: ...The park also has a place to clean fish...lots of grass excellent parking and a very good boat ramp...

If you are interested in more information about this suggestion i would be happy to provide it..

Look foward to :1fishing1: with you all very soon

    Cheers Matt :biggrin2:
