    Hello Fellow Raider Members,

I have been absent from the site for a quite a few years. Hasn't time flown. Looks like Fishraider has taken a new dimension .Credit to Donna and Stewie . Hoping to catch up and participate again soon.

    Cheers Bart

I also have been absent from here for awhile. Well done on the site upgrade btw.

But apparently my profile has been deleted from the Trivia page. :(

  2. hi Raiders,

finally managed to get out for a fish. :yahoo:

I took my OH who is not a fisho at all, so wanted somewhere easy. His choice of location was "somewhere south" :1wallbash: and we didnt leave sydney before 9:30.... :1badmood:

Have not fished the harbour before, my observation is that it is an early morning / early evening spot. Did hook up some small bream & snappers on a rising tide, best bit was seeing a massive ray swim past us - easily 4ft + across....just awesome.

Heard the lake is fishing well but it was wall to wall with holidayers, so went to Minamurra instead.

Run out tide, fast current. On second cast (no weight, 30cm leader and size 12 longshank with prawns) get a big hit, nice bream just under legal. In the next hour and a bit managed to catch 3 nice bream and a blackfish, all just under legal. Lost something much bigger too, but thats how it goes. The OH did not catch anything as he was unable to tell the nibbles from the water movement, but he went swimming and was happy with that.

  3. great story roberta,

after several years of suggesting one as a present my hubby just bought me a standard ukelele for Xmas...i'm sure he will live to regret it..... :1naughty:

my only problem is being left handed. I believe it may be a lot easier if i just learn to play right-handed. I am lucky to be able to get lessons from the local music store, who has already suggested I should consider joining the local Uke group if all goes well.

  4. I actually would have liked to do jury duty (love true crime stories etc) but due to not being able to sit for long periods of time have a lifetime exemption.

  5. Hi all,

I got an email from the Shooters & Fishers party advising of public forums to contribute to NPWS management of feral animals.

Unfortunately I accidentally deleted the email, but apparently one of the Greenie groups is trying to have Trout a declared noxious fish in NSW.

    Anyone else seen this item?

  6. Mr Silverbike is a tech rep and has driven one for a while, this is his opinion - useless computer system, worst A-pillar blind spots in any car he's ever driven, never ending electric problems, so-so handling....

unfortunately once he started he got onto how his 30 year old ute is a better vehicle, and that was the end of the discussion....

  7. wow guys, what can I say...I'm tearing up just reading the replies...THANK YOU ALL :)

Trapper Tom, I don't  much, maybe 1 a week? if i'm lucky. But I am very much looking forward to Easter...watch out Yellowbellies!! Haven't been out for a fish for ages so am really excited about sitting on an old farm dam with friends and rellies.

Would love to see that elkhorn :biggrin2:

thanks all for the links and suggestions, much appreciated. The pain thing just gets you down so much. I've been having pain management for about 15 years; currently my nerve blocks are 2 months apart - and thats after 15 years, so that may give you an idea of my injury.

I feel better today, but that may be because I have applied for 2 jobs this morning.

  8. cheers for the replies, guys. It helps very much to know I am not alone here.

tan, thanks. Yes, we're not sure if it's Cymbidium Suavissimum though. But I have a spare plant if you would like one.

    Again, Thankyou. :)

  9. Those who read Trapper Tom's post will know that I also suffer from depression.

Usually I don't post much because my depression makes me think other people dont want to know what I think about anything.

Well, right now I am suffering very badly, am home alone for the week and just need to vent a bit.

I have permanent nerve damage in my back. If I am stressed or ill it plays up more than usual. Right now I have the sore throat bug, which in turn sets my nerve off. If I give them a heads up at work that I might struggle a bit, I get an annoyed "oh, can't you just take a panadol or nurofen?" Well, NO. I have Tramadol for that, but if I take it I can't work. They don't get it and just moan. (Chronic pain is the cause of my depression, and they were fully aware of my disability when they hired me).

I am soo over them, and am dreading going to work every day. Only 2 weeks ago the gen-y in the office dropped my gas lift chair without warning, while I was sitting in it. I got the cold shoulder treatment because I got hurt and put it in the incident book.

I've started looking for something else but have no confidence.

but I do feel a bit better for venting.

    Thanks for listening :)

    SB

  10. good to see you back, Tom.

I can fully understand, as a sufferer myself. The trick is finding a sympathetic GP, and a friend willing to listen when you need to talk. A supportive partner helps enormously (alas mine does not understand). My orchids listen, though. :biggrin2:
