  1. Just back from a short trip to lake Wallace near Lithgow. Caught four solid rainbow trout while there. We saw a few fish caught on lures. My first fish was a surprise because I wasn't expecting to catch anything mid afternoon. The next three I caught on the last day just before we left. I got up early at 5.50am, first fish at 6.07am, next one at 6.20am and the last one at 7.00am. Just as I got it in, the hook came out and as I was trying to take a photo it flapped around and escaped back into the water, it must have been camera shy. That is the best day trout fishing I've had in awhile. ( all fish released )

  2. We were down in Victoria on some personal business so we weren't prepared for fishing.

We decided to go to Lake Eildon for the weekend arriving Friday 2nd December.  So off to Kmart to buy a some gear, a cheap rod $12 and to BCF to get some powerbait.

It was a beautiful afternoon so we went down to the Pondage, it's a lot bigger than it looks in the picture.pondage.JPG

Found a nice spot in the shade and dropped in a line.

The locals were arriving for there afternoon/evening fish. It was very quiet, no rises, no one catching anything just the locust making a deafening noise.

About 3.30pm there was a couple of splashes out in front of me as a fish was chasing dinner.

The curl in my cheap line was starting to straighten out.

As I picked up the slack the fish was off.

After a couple of runs I landed this nice 52cm trout.trout.JPG

  3. I first meet Sean at a fresh water social fishing for trout at lake Lyell in May 2009. He was in his old boat ( hooked) with his mate Lenny ( abuman) which had a steering problem(I will never forget that day) thank god you two were ok. Since then I saw him at other socials with his son ( soft plastic day at George's river and Botany Bay flat head days) as well as the entrance with Lisa. All though I don't really know him, as a fishraider I feel I do. I'm glad your journey has changed, so get out there a give those fish hell. Geoff.

  4. Sean, that's one fishing trip you and Lisa will be talking about for awhile. You must be happy with the ranger, towing a trailer through those conditions. I'm sure your driving skills helped. It looks like everyone had a good time with plenty of hair tail caught. Is that the first time the boats been out since you set it up.( looks great) It was good to see a few junior fish raiders braving the cold weather and sharing the experience with their dads.Geoff.

  5. I had dura hubs fitted to our single axle boat trailer some six years ago.We have travelled to lake jindabyne and lake Glenbawn at least once a year, plus other trips to Botany Bay, sydney harbour etc. We always put the trailer hubs underwater. I am very happy with them. Geoff.

  6. Hello Jani, your soft plastic fishing skills have landed you some nice fish,it's good to see that you are making the most of the summer weather. When Stewy and Donna come to visit I'm sure you will pick up a few more ideas from the master. What is your favourite way to cook zander ? And what do they taste like. Also has anyone asked you about your fishraider hat?

    Your Aussie Uncle.

  7. Hello Sean, your one lucky fisherman. All I can think of is what if it happened on the road while doing 100kph. I know how you like to make sure everything is in good working order because of the distance you travel to go :1fishing1: but please check the rest of the trailers frame for rust. Hope to see you out and about on the water soon, take care. Geoff.
