[Strange Tumut Trout]

Caught two of these funny small trout at Tumut over the easter holidays. After googling looks like a Golden Trout.

They were rising all over the place. Has anyone else caught these?

 

[Opening Season Trout]

Fished Tumut Tuesday Wednesday this week. Fishing was hard going with fish not taking much interest in spinners of flys until I got this nice brown.

She measured 57cm which is a PB for me. Very stressful fighting this fish on 6lb line.

I had a huge brown follow my Waxwing to my feet but would not bite. I tried everything I had in my tackle box but no more takes.

Overall very pleased with the big fish

I had the same problem 2 years ago. see the silvery trout I though salmon for sure but then more and more people were saying brown trout.

Any thoughts?

Im pretty sure that anybody is allowed to fish any river. As long as you stay below the max water height the river cant be owned by anybody.
