  1. Hi Raiders,

After some feedback on Asari pearl mono. Has anyone used/using it?

Done a bit of research and no one has said anything bad on it even though a 300m roll cost about $15.

    Thanks :)

  2. It's a great site full of useful info which makes a big difference out on the water. The users on here are extremely friendly and always happy to help. I've coincidentally bumped into 3 members off here now and all of them have shared tactics and good spots for me to try! Keep up the good work raiders and hopefully one day I'll be one of the raiders giving out of advice B)

  3. Well done, Sam - I always thought a flattie would be the first decent fish that you would land!! Now you just have to remember what you were doing to get the hit! :D

No worries - you'll be sweet from now on!! Just remember (usually) slower & smaller for bream!

    Roberta

Huge thanks to you Roberta, every post of yours is knowledge to the reader!

I was using the exact same technique as issue showed me!

Might have a shot at bream before work this afternoon. Good thing about bream fishing is it also attracts flatties so hopefully a win win for me B)

  4. Any lizard over 60 is a really good one I reckon, especially in the Harbour ! Well done

Thanks mate, I would have been stoked with any size , but the 62 was definitely just a dream a few weeks ago!

    Well done and congratulations

Great way to get off the mark with a classy fish like that.

May this be the first of many and keep up the great work.

    Ian

Thanks Ian, I think i set the bar too high for myself

Yummmm love flattie fillets! Well done & congrats on a nice catch!

Thanks mate flatties are definitely great tasting fish!

  5. Well Done

    thanks mate

Awesome ! I love a flatty around that size! Well done on ya first!! Cheers scratchie!!!

Never seen a flattie this big, hopefully there's alot more to come

Good work champ, would love to score one that size. What lure were you using?

Thanks mate, takes a lot of patience especially when fishing from the shore line. I was on a 3/8 jighead using riptide mullet and the area was well lite. goodluck mate

Congrats Samo. Contrary to the sceptics you can get some fantastic advice here. Keep it going and be the sponge like me learning. Cheers Rich

Thanks mate. I'm exactly like you, I absorb all the info and advice from here and put it into practice and it's finally paid off

  6. I'll start off by saying a huge thanks to all the fishraiders who put my with my questions over the past few weeks and went out of their way to show me the basics!

Headed out early Saturday morning to Double bay and tried flicking some lures without much success. Went around the shore line to rose bay wharf and had a go there for a good hour with nothing more then small bites. Thought i would have one more go in a different spot so headed towards vaucluse.

20 mins into my flicking, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! Out came a 62cm flattie  Couldn't have asked for a better night!

  7. hahaha you legend, I've got a harbour cruise today and its going to kill me I can't troll a lure behind the cruise ship lol I might flick some squid jigs once we return but everyone's going to think I'm nuts!!! Tight lines, Shakeel

You need to find a way to get a lure in the water. Those boat cruises would be perfect for trolling! think about the awesome fishing report you would have to write up if you caught something :biggrinthumb:

  8. Just want to say a big thanks to fishraider issue for an awesome fishing experience!.

Started off with me heading down to botany bay for a flick to try and figure out the art of soft plastic! Issue, a complete stranger walking past asked to see how my day was going and recommended a better spot further up stream and after a little chit chat joined me a little later on.

Being an experienced fisherman, It was obvious to him I had pretty much no idea with casting, retrieving and choice of lures. He took the time to show me the basics of it all, casting, retrieving and which lure suited those conditions and in the space of my 30 minute tutorial he caught a nice flattie approx. 50cm which was released. It was then a southerly hit and it was time to call it quit!

It's guys like issue that make this site a good read and a good experience. Thanks for your time mate and hope to see you around.

    Sam
