Hi Adam
I hear that the snapper are around from Kembla up so it
depends where you want to fish as any of the areas you
mention should have snapper on them
both Kembla and Bellambi have good boat ramps

Sorroz and myself felt the need to get out again and so we decided to take a mate that
hadn't been out to Browns or done much in the way of out wide
New years day looked good so .... 6.30am at the ramp and off through Botany Bay we go
heading straight to Browns to start the morning
As the saying goes "Where the bloody hell are you" we were the lone ranger for a good hour
until we finally saw 2 more boats that were on the troll
plan was to drift Browns and then go for a troll
well 5 drifts for 3 orange roughies and a green eyed shark plus 2 drop weighs lighter and
our mated being a fair bit lighter in the stomach after a berley session that we advise was
fairly usless considering the depth we were fishing we figured it was time to go
everything packed away out can the the weapons of choice 4 x 15 kg TLD's and set the lures
port long Uzi in Evil short a Red christmas tree then a Halco gold trembler on the long and
Lumo Uzi on the short corner all set we head to the south east in some of the cleanest blue
water we have seen for a while even though the temp varied around 21*C
then we found them ....... a school of Dollies when all of a sudden the the long corner Evil
explodes into blue and yellow mayhem seasick who's seasick
we get our mate on the rod and start to pull in the other lines only to find the we have a
double and I'm on the with the Red Christmas tree firmly planted in Dollie number 2
this leaves Sorroz to pull in the other rods and get the gaff, sorry skipper too slow
while Kev is guiding Gus on how to control the fish and get it in I continue to bring in my fish
get it to the side of the boat after the over under dance around the deck when the lines crossed
Capt Kev hits the gaff home and one Dolly is in the boat ........... oh by the way Gus watch out
for the tail as they tend to trash around, this lead to me trying to wrestle it into submission with
a towel while sliding around on a bloody deck and laughing each time the tail slapped someones leg
with the fish subdued and Gus concentrating hard they had the fish close a couple of times only to
have it turn and run again
while moving the rods out of the way I noticed the birdsnest on my reel and thought drop it over the
side and untangle it well just as I found the knot and was unpicking it we found that the school was
still around, you guessed it they liked my Christmas tree so much I was on again
the boys finally got Gus's fish in with a perfect gaff shot and then we turned to my second one
I didn't know wether to watch my next fish or Gus wrestle his, lucky it was pretty well tired out and
dispatched quickly so I turned mine and watched it give some aerial action before anothe rperfect gaff
shot and into the boat
so it was Gus 1 Chris 2 and Kev thanked for his assistance
out with the tarp and packed the fish and ice all wrapped up into the cab 1.30pm turned and said so Kev
we heading home only to be greeted with I haven't got a fish between the rod jumper and you so get the
spread out again
we troll all the way back to near the wide FAD for nothing and with the wind picking up we decided to run
for home and called it a day
3 x Dollies all around the 110cm size all cows left us wondering how big the bull would have been
Happy New Year ...... oh yes it is

Jani
here is a dry rub I use on beef pork lamb
use a mortor and pestle or a spice/coffee grinder
2 tablespoon of coarse sea salt
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1 tablespoon of onion powder
1 teaspoon of thyme powder
1 teaspoon of sage powder
1 teaspoon of sweet paprika
1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
2 teasoon of mixed pepper corns
1 teaspoon of oregano dried
1 teaspoon of cummin
if you like it hot you can add chilli
try other spices that interest you
grind into a powder store in zip lock bag or sealed container
dry the meat off with paper towel and then ..........
1 teaspoon of rub per side of meat sprinkle on an massage into the meat
turn over and do the other side ........ leave for at least half an hour
better if left for a couple of hours
BBQ at medium heat to your preferred level (medium rare for me please)
