  1. Yes mate, leather jacket factory at the moment. Loose more jigs and lives than I care to mention. Not many kings at the moment. Got some goo salmon and tailor round the heads of botany the other day, was more fun than the peak

  2. Live mullet traps are cheap. An old ice cream container and a bit of stale bread works a treat. Even the bought ones are great. See if that will jag one.

    Also try mullet fillets.

  3. I have caught plenty in white wash with a simple ganged Pilly. No sinker and no float. Cast gently with a nice long rod and let Pilly do its own thing. Only problem is its usually a one bite scenario. Pilly's are awesome in that respect cause they are self burleying. Got some massive Bream as by catch with this technique to. But off the rocks out the front and take a good couple of slabs of Pilly

  4. I actually don't know which ones they were but the main reason I turned around pretty much straight away was the sounder was dead as a maggot. Not a mark to be seen which was disappointing. Maybe they have been scared off by the jackets ???

  5. Took a run out to the peak this arvo. Complete waist of time.

Loaded up on yakkas and slimeys in the bay and headed out.

Dropped over a slimey first. Was setting up a 2nd rod and noticed the slimey wasn't twitching. Wound it in and there was a just a skeleton left. Literally only bones and after just a minute or so in the drink.

Freaky I can tell you, I was almost worried about the thickness of my hull.

Over went a yakka and same result so I packed it in and came home.

Beautiful run out there though, got back just in time to miss the storm.

Had some fun on a school of trevs that got mixed up in the yakkas. Good pullers on a bait jig lmao.

    Tight lines everyone

  6. We were sounding heaps of bait but nothing on the surface. All mid water. I reckon your right about the rain though. And the runout doesn't really stop either, even when it should be running in at times. Very mixed up

  7. Just a quick report guys, a mate and I went and had a flick round Putney down to the bridge in several locations. Used mostly blades with the smaller brown/gold ones doing the best job. Got a handful of u/s bream and tarwhine. A 38cm whiting and a fatty about the same length. (Not bad for only a couple of hours either side of high.

It was a beautiful day on the water and beat the hell out of working.

Loads of boats round. No one going off with heaps of fish but like us enjoying a pristine winters day.

    Tight lines
