  1. Hi Wellzy

I think this might be the information that you are looking for

    https://www.olg.nsw.gov.au/boattrailers

for the time that  you're going to have the boat parked on the street it wont be of concern UNLESS the trailer and the boat are over 7.5m in length. Then you are only permitted to have it on the street for 1 hour.  If it is under 7.5m dont leave it attached to the car as then the total length will exceed 7.5m .

If it just parked in a suburban street away from a boat ramp I dont think that you will have a problem

    Cheers

  2. Yes you can register a trailer for 3 months at a time. I do it this way

Ok I forgot the blue slip $32

Just looked at the RMS site and an unregistered vehicle permit is $22 for what you are looking to do. A trailer is defined as a vehicle under the Road Rules Act so a UVP would apply to the trailer

  3. Why dont you look for a boat seat storage box for the base and the swivel seat on top.

That will give you a wide mounting base making it less likely to pull out in rough conditions and you get the extra storage under the seat.

    Cheers

  4. Gday,

I would lay a plywood sheet floor over the tile before laying the underlay . That way the tiles are not going to show though as the carpet wares. Glue fix and screw the sheets into the concrete substrate.

Depending on the height of the skirtings. Removing them prior to installing the ply floor may be advisable. Re install them on top of the new ply. That way, when the carpet is installed the skirtings will match the rest of the house. At the doorways it is easy to create a hidden ramp to match the different heights between the floors I'm a carpenter/ builder by trade and have done this many times over the years both in domestic and commercial applications. It basically comes down to what quality job you are looking for.

With the cost of the carpet. How long is a piece of string? You get what you pay for.

    Cheers

  5. Gday Joep

They would be squirt worms ( bristle worms) I would think that far up the river. I grew up at Panania and never got nippers in that part of the river. Though we did once get green nippers under Alfords Point Bridge amongst the weeds but only a few. Squirt worms are a great bait for bream, I used to pump them at lambeth park.

  6. Razzelle,

Have a look at Reg 15

    http://legislation.nsw.gov.au/sessionalview/sessional/sr/2011-466.pdf

    It says that

15 Fishing in Darling Harbour area A person must not

except as authorised by the Authority, take or attempt to take, or harm, any fish in the Darling Harbour area (other than in Cockle Bay). Maximum penalty: 20 penalty units

My reading of this reg is that YOU CAN fish Cockle bay. I would take Cockle Bay to be from the Pyrmont Bridge south.

But , the Rangers being type of people they are, can use reg 23a to move you along.if you dont challenge them.

Most people , when told to do something by a person in uniform will do what they are told even if they dont have to as they dont want the trouble.

Anyway , why would you want to catch fish in Darling Harbour with all the people traffic down there not to mention that pollution risk from the fish caught there.

the amount of crap on the bottom of the bay would have to be on par with Rhodes and Homebush Bay.

Go fish Walsh Bay or Prymont ans avoid the trouble

  7. There are always plenty of bridges Around Sydney to fish under when it is raining. I've fished many times in the rain under Fig Tree Bridge and the Alfords point Bridge land based. If your boat has a bimmini on it and the wind isnt to bad what is the problem ? Its summer, the weather is warm and the rain dosn't have soap in it or WD-40.

You could always sit in the pub with a few mates and relive the past glories while sinking a few beers planing your next adventure.

    cheers

  8. Big Pete, Overdraft.

Sorry to inform you but you two blokes are totally wrong. I looked into this matter last year

Here is the link to the post I made about it then

    http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=74775&hl=

Here is an the exert from the legislation.

    Banned fishing Methods

    Port Hacking—Nets and Traps
The whole of the waters of Port Hacking or its tributaries to the westward of a line drawn southerly from the southernmost extremity of Hungry Point to the northernmost
extremity of Cabbage Tree or Pulpit Point.
    Any species of fish.
Any method involving the use of a net or a trap, other than the following:
    (a) a dip or scoop net (prawns),
    ( B) a landing net.
    All year.
That should pretty much settle the issue.

  9. Gday Reese

If you are getting a leak at this connection when it is disconnected from the motor then the ball valve that seals this fitting is not seating against the internal o ring so this fitting has to be suspect. It only takes a very minor air leak when the motor is under high revs for the air fuel ratio to be out of balance

I would replace the fittings at both ends of the fuel line. Also mentioned above , if you dont have a fuel line filter installed grab on at the same time and that will fix any crap getting into the carbis. I dont see any need to replace the fuel line its self if it is good condition

With regards to the tank leaking, you should be able to unscrew the black tank fitting and replace the washer or firstly try to tighten it up.

Being a pensioner, I dont have the cash to splashout on replacing whole fuel lines and fittings so I start by a process of elimination, starting with the most obvious and working downwards until I locate the problem

    Cheers

    Bob

  10. Reese,

when you are using the motor you have to have to air valve for the fuel tank open to allow air to replace the fuel as you use it.

If you disconnect the fuel line from the motor then prime the bulb , the bulb will become firm. You will also be able to see fuel leaking from the motor connection or from the primer bulb connections. That will indicate an air leak when the motor is under load. ie. full throttle.

    cheers

    Bob

  11. Reese

Before you do that. Uncouple the motor - fuel line connection and then pump the primer bulb. Does is get and stay hard?

if so, your fuel line is ok . If not, look at the primer bulb for leaks , then the clamps or the fitting that connects the fuel line the tank.

If it stays hard , look at the motor connection.

The other thing that I learned when trying to sort my problem was that the primer bulb needs to be in a vertical position for it to work correctly.

There is no point spending money on the boat when it is not required when it can be spent on fishing gear.

    cheers

    Bob

  12. Gday,

I recently had a similar problem with my boat. Check all your fuel line connections for air leaks. With me, it turned out to be the connection between the fuel line and the motor. I replaced the female fuel fitting on the fuel line but the problem was still present. I then replaced the male connection on the motor and that fixed the problem.

    cheers

    Bob
