  1. Cheers mate,

Had a drift around a few of the beaches with some bait and flicking plastics for a couple hours but nothing wanted to play the game unfortunately .

I will just have to try again next year

If anyone is after some chopper tailor they are in plaque proportion's out towards the heads all along the brown water line

    Hey Longy,

I wouldn’t even bother going outside mate! I checked the ocean today and whilst it’s not as bad as predicted, it’s still pumping. Not worth the risk from my experience!
Plenty of spots to try for Jew in the bay. Seems to be a few flatty around too!

    cheers scratchie!!!

Yeah ended up only hitting the water once for a cruise around the bay in a mate's boat.
Mine pretty much just went on a road trip.
As you said @longy509 haha if not rain then swell, and also quite unpredictable.

Still had a good time, but mighty keen to get back up there for a fish.
Hopefully can do another trip before things cool down too much.

Backed up again today on the Kingies, after a top day yesterday with Josh & Aiden. The Kingies weren’t as big - up to 70. Most were just under 62/63/64, but there plenty of them. Fellow raider Adrian (“Hads”) &I  boated 35 & Hads lost a seriously big unit next to the boat - a knot which he put on the 80lb leader “to hold the sinker on” cut the line. He’s decided to use a swivel next time😳.Squid were really hard today, but little lollipop yakkas were in abundance (Balmoral) and all the bigger kings were landed on the yakkas, whilst all the smaller kings fell to striped squid & squid heads.

Condition were perfect early (got hot & choppy by midday, but we were back at the ramp by then
The ramp is always a great place to meet / share with others - look out for a new Raider  “Sean”, convinced him to join up.

Going to have a break for a few days & mow the lawns, clean the gutters & do some hedging for “Mrs Pickles” so I can get a leave pass on Saturday.

The electric motor will open doors. A whole new style of fishing. I was also one of the lucky who got to attach a GPS capable trolling motor. Absolutely an amazing game changer.

RED HOT TIP for young players. Anderson plugs, keep them coated inb fishoil and inspect regulary as they are notorious for rust and corrosion, even in they are hidden. I speak from experience haha.

Do you fishing brizzy waters often?

I agree if you dont put something on the anderson plugs you will be putting new ones on every 3 to 6 months due to corrosion and you will work that out when you are out on the water and your trolling motor stops. I have just bought some di electric grease to try on mine because im sick of replacing them so frequently.

Thanks Longy I will be down there from Thursday. The weather forecast looks ok but the wind looks to be a bit dodgy anyway that is the south coast.

I fish mostly in the basin across the east side near Oaky Island where there is a nice drop off and fish the incoming along a channel around 4.2 mt depth also don't mind a run across to Wandandian Creek.

    Tight lines

Hey mate how did you end up going i tried to give you some early updates but for some reason every time i tried on my phone it kept saying content not available. We ended up have a pretty good couple of days getting the majority of flatties trolling and flicking plastics i didnt keep count but im guessing we got around 15 to 20 flatties with the best being 59 and 69.5cm also a few whiting/trevally/bream/squire and a stinger.

  9. Hi just a quick report we went up the port last week.We done two trips to Broughton but had trouble catching live baits the few that we got were demolished  by a couple of sharks im assuming so i trolled a few lures around and landed a couple of little kings other then that we got a few flatties. So day 3 we decided to head south and had a crack of Birubi i flicked a few plastics around and my wife fished some squid and prawns on a dropper rig she landed a few baby snapper and a couple of flatties again. After a couple hours we decide to troll the coast line back hooking up and landing half a dozen or so Bonnies. Then on the last morning we decided to put the boat in one last time for a couple of hours and drift around the bay for a feed of flathead we didnt get any but i was pretty happy when i hooked up this nice  snapper out in front of Corlette in 8m of water on a piece of squid he measured up at 69cm.We also had a crack at catching some squid around shoalbay and jimmys beach but couldnt get any takers only a few followers i think our jigs might have been a bit big.

Overall reasonably quiet week on the fish  but still beats working.

  10. Cheers mate we need all the luck we can get lol. Yeh that was me i had a ball fighting that mac tuna.We went for a quick run out to broughton today with not much  i was going to flick a few plastics around until i realized i left them all in  bathurst grrr so we just fished with bait for a few little flatties then tried for some squid at jimmies and shoalbay had a couple of followers but no takers. i think i might have the day on land tomorrow and take the missus to newcastle for the day. Then get back on the water monday and try again when the traffic has calmed down it is bloody chaos at little beach ramp/

  11. Cheers for the advice everyone, we ended up getting a little place for the week at shoalbay just on our way up now.

Hopefully the weather stays good and the fish are biting. If any one is out and about on the water over the next week and wants to say gday shoot me pm.

If we are having any luck i will post a report during the week

  12. We dont normaly go away on public or school holidays but unfortunatly with work tgis is the only time we can get away for a few months. We will have to pay a bit more but it will be worth it just to get out of Bathurst and get the boat on the salt water for a few days.
