  1. Hello you lovely Boat Owners,

I have next Wednesday the 4th of Nov to Friday the 6th of Nov off and would love to get out on a boat for a fish.

Doesn't bother me what we chase. Whether its flatties in the harbour or small species of whales off NZ, I am down.

Live in Bayview within walking distance to the ramp but can travel all over Sydney.

Happy to share costs but I don't have suitable gear for offshore. Just the normal landbased gear. ie. Symetre 2500 reels etc.

    Hope to hear from you.

  2. I might need to invest in a Yak so I can move around the lagoon more. Looks like it would be good fund.

I got a nice 33cm Bream at Wimbeldon Ave on steak in the early early hours of Saturday morning. So there are some good fish landbased but the Yak seems to be the go.

  3. About $4 an hour I think from memory. The place was pretty packed that morning actually.

I might be doing a night session this week to gather some bait, but my boys want to tag along (they think I can just go out and get another kingy, and they want to help by looking after the livies) so I might go to Balmoral.

Any issues with the no fishing signs at Palm Beach wharf, or are they only new?

Yeh the council made the decision to not allow fishing a few years ago. But i have fished there a million times since and never been caught. And if a ranger does come, i will just play dumb and leave.

But having fished some of the ferry wharves in the harbour over the past couple of weeks, they all have signs encouraging fishing. Yes the signs have some rules, but all the wharves have been spotless which is a good sign. Not to mention provide cover when it pisses down.

As for your livies, go to Mosman Ferry Wharf. They are there in plague proportions. Both yakkas and tailor. Will be much easier for you than Balmoral.

  4. Hi All,

Been fishing for about 15 years but really starting to get more serious about wanting to learn. I know the basics, have decent gear, can drive anywhere in Sydney and even have a boat licence (I don't own a boat and don't have much experience skippering one).

I really want to catch legal fish more regularly. Whether it be Flatties, Bream or even Jewies and Kings.

More often than not I have my girlfriend with me but she loves fishing more than I do and we are both always willing to learn.

    Available most nights and weekends.

Hopefully someone can take pity on me and show my girlfriend and I the ropes!

  5. SgtBundy, congrats on the first king mate. I'm yet to have that experience but hope it isn't too far away.

I fished Palm Beach wharf on Friday night with the missus. Not much fish wise, but got onto 5 squid pretty damn quickly. Saved 3 for bait (which didn't do shit in the harbour over the weekend) and cooked 2 up.

We are looking to do a solid session at Narrabeen Lagoon this Friday night hoping for a Jewie or big Flattie. If your around come say hi.

  6. Oh, the ones that had a new name for the noise my aerator was making :) You guys were certainly having a good night of it. Any luck after I left?

    haha that was us.

as the tide hit its peak we got hammered by heaps of tailor. lost alot of rigs to the bastards but i managed a nice 30cm odd model who went back.

next time going to do narrabeen lagoon so i can pretty much guarantee fish that will keep everyone happy.

will have to say hello next time i see you.

  7. My father has had race horses for 40 years and all I can say is BOTTOMLESS MONEY PIT!

He prefers the breeding side of the game and has 5 broodmares at any given time. But the biggest wins in 40 years have been 1 x Group 1 Champagne Stakes, 1 x Group 2 Dulcify Handicap and about 5 Bathurst Cups.

But at the end of the day if you work hard you have to have your habbit.
