If you want a high quality aluminium / stainless steel type, look into the one from the against site rules.
quality is superby compared to the plastic ones.
they are manual type, good luck.

Well done yowie , nice feed .

Clean water near river mouths ,
Areas of broken grd, kelp rock sand.
no burley needed.
Quality jigs are a must . The packet will tell you the sink rate x sec /m.
Match to the depth your fishing.
I personally prefer yamashita jigs.
soft plastic style rod will suit. 6 lb braid to 12lb leader. Lighter leader equals easy to lose jigs.
I get more squid during the late morning than at night .

I searched Google last night , it appears that they are male sperm ,
Hopefully someone else can confirm ???
And have a habit of latching on to soft skin.
Apparently a Korean women who was eating a par boiled whole squid , had 12 of these sperm latching on the inside of her mouth.
Who then had to get them removed surgically !!!! What the ......!

Hi , I've been into the squidding scene the last few years and caught a fair share of squid over that period .
Whilst cleaning my squid today ,2 of them had these soft white needle like substance inside them.,they were approx 1mm in diameter and about 10mm long.
They were everywhere inside the cone part.
Does anyone have any idea of what they are??

Hi, I'm unsure if this has been brought up, but a few in the
Hierarchy of our be loved sport, have requested "Our View".
Yes, the view of people who get out there and actually wet a line and
who spend time on the water
I have skimmed through it and it asks people opinions on bag limts, minimum legal length, fishing methods etc.
It could be an opportunity to submit a "Fishraider's Form" being backed up by X amount of members, it may have more weight.
The link is below:
http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/recreational/info/review
Things that have been making my hair stand up lately is:
1. being allowed to keep / kill large flathead (the breeders) should be a maximum size (along with a minimum size) you can keep and
2. the legal minimum length for mulloway 45cms is way too small, i have been told that a 45cm fish has not even had the chance to breed.
I would love to hear what other issues on the topic need a mention.

Hi , thanks for the responses , some great info there ....
I like to get the poddies first and then organise a fish trip a week or so later, so hence reason to keep them for a bit.
30 may be too many for a bucket but I have trouble keep only 10 for a few days.
I normally put in a large size aquarium corner filter in the bucket , with the carbon, white filter cotton and some hexagonal bacteria stones ( not sure what they are called). But still have the problem.
I think it may be the water temp being too high lately .... Since the bucket is not insulated and the garage gets quite hot these summer days..
The esky is a great idea and obviously adding more water per fish...
Is fresh tap water an option ??
Do you guys use any filtration , or any hints on how I can improve it.?
Thanks Paul

Hi, impeller spinswhen engine runs, would not keep cool at idle other wise.
as long as water comes out of the prop and up near the leg then impeller is ok.
Assuming water is coming out of these areas, while the muffs are on, then problem is salt buildup at the tell tail.
Try to unblock the tell tail with a bit of wire.
i need to do this every trip, so my tell tail works.
