I agree with Cheap Charlie.A lot of people on forums are only trying to help which is great,but ,the help offered comes from limited knowledge and can be dangerous.They remember what happened to a mate,or something read on a forum somewhere or some tit bit they saw on Youtube and they offer that information up in the best of intentions, and it is wrong.

I had a customer call me last week with a non starting issue,he was adamant the s/motor had died and could I order in a new one.He refused my offer to attend site and diagnose the fault,he just wanted me to come and replace the s/motor.when I arrived on site the next morning with his freshly ordered in s/motor as requested I found the battery had a dead cell but the s/motor was good.

So if you want fishing advise go to a fishing site like this one,if you want mechanical advise go to a mechanic-not a fisherman.

I use that greenslip calculator every year and yes the GIO was heaps cheaper but does not cover any driver especially young drivers under 25 so with my son sometimes driving my 4WD I stuck with NRMA.

You are correct about using other ramps as we now use Talpin Park at Drumoyne and due to more people using that ramp they fixed it up and even extended the car park, Strange thing is that that boat ramp is down the road from Council Chambers and next to houses and they have not put gates there.

The gates have been locked from sunset to sunrise for years thats why we stopped using it and the only way you could get a key was if you were a ratepayer of the council.

Was out in Botany Bay on Sat in my mates boat which just has a 27 meg radio, did a radio check with MR Solander and all was good, sitting in the middle of the bay we could hear people logging onto MR Port Kembla with no worries. Mate fit both for peice of mind.
