  1. Hey mate , I normally fish the rocks on the point of Bundeena & Bonie vale (very safe) pillys cut in half or peeled prawns on a 2/0 bait holder hook . Plenty of bream , tailors & flattys around there...

Thanks Mate, does that ever fire around this time of year or should I wait until it gets a little warmer

  2. Hello Raiders,

Just wondering if anyone had any tips on fishing the bundeena area, I've heard that casting out from the wharf towards the small reefy area is worth a shot. If anyone had tips on what bait or tackle to use that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

  3. There are a few great places in the hawkesbury for blue swimmers Ive caught over a dozen in there on a line usually occurs when the fish are not biting, drop a crab pot on the edge of mooney mooney creek next to the road bridge and the main river should get a few there.

  4. Hey Bretto,

Firstly are you land based or on a boat. either way a good option is unweighted frozen nippers which have worked for me before, try to cast them just past the wash but even if you don't you're still in with a chance but be aware that wrass and others might also take your bait.

  5. G'day Camo1808

Saw Your other post, the combo that you mentioned above in my opinion would have enough breaking strain to handle kings some others might disagree,

I have always gone with 20lb braid and 30lb leader on my rods and a 4000 size reel. But the second rod sounds like it would do the trick. But you always have to hope that what ever you're going after (assuming kings with yakkas and squid) doesn't reef you whilst in a yak.

    Cheers,

  6. G'day Everyone first chat :yahoo:,

So my dad and myself are hiring a boat for three hours at Akuna bay in Cowan creek some time over the next few weeks, I've read that there are good catches of leatherjacket coming out of there but not sure. Anyway just wondering if anyone had any tips on spots, what fish we might catch, what tackle to use or what bait, lures etc.we should be using. We are planning to fish with prawns, squid, live nippers and live yakkas around cottage point and . But any info or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

  7. Mylestom just south of Coffs Harbour camping/caravan park with a place to launch the kayaks near the bottom of the baths, then all you need to so is paddle south along the river and there is a great opening that leads out into the sea good channel here. The baths are also a great place to fish with flathead, bream and whiting a great chance if land based is easier for the day literally a stones throw from the caravan park swell as this the cafe across the road have some of the best & biggest burgers ever. It is also a short drive to coffs if need be.

    Hope this Helps
