Hey Tommy,
what size hooks and line are you using? I'm thinking of heading up in a months time armed with some powerbait. I might hire one of the tinnies up there and troll the lake even.

G'day Roffo
3 different types of the Gulp putty, two fish on the rainbow variety, one on the chunky cheese variety and one on the bright orange variety. I've caught them on the powerbait nuggets before and also the bright green putty on previous trips hence taking a variety - especially if you're settling in for a big session!
Cheers

i usually walk the flats on low tide under figtree. try different spots along the sandbar and you should pick up something.

certainly is a top flattie haunt. I haven't caught a bream yet but have caught many lizards, mainly on the berkley worms.

go the mighty eagles!!!!!! i can't wait to get out there and cheer em on

I think a new forum section called 'CAMPING'. This would allow raiders to share their favourite camping stories and camp sites with each other.

Hi All,
I'm trying to organise a weekend (2 nights) for a group of approx 10-12 guys. Does anyone know a good place to accomodate this amount of people where we can enjoy a few drinks and wet a line (freshwater or saltwater is fine). The accomodation doesn't have to be 5 star. As long as it can accomodate a group with no worries then let me know. The location would have to be no longer than 4 hours drive from sydney. I'm looking at the end of winter so please indicate if campfires are allowed or the accomodation has internal heating.
Does this place have a website i can look at?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi All,
I am heading up to Myall Lakes this weekend on a houseboat and was wondering if anyone has fished these waters before? What types of fish should i target and what's the best way of getting them. Lures, bait?? I'd appreciate if anyone can point me to a few decent spots.
Cheers,
Mark

Hi All,
I normally fish on the north side around Lane Cove, and the northern beaches. I thought i'd give the Georges River a try this weekend. I've never fished this river before. Can anyone help me out on any decent spots on the river? I'll be landbased and will be targeting Jew on this occasion. Send me a PM if you prefer. As long as the rain holds off, and it's not too miserable, i'll be planning on an afternoon/night session.

great story, a pity about the ending. sounds like you were on to something decent there mate. I fished the lane cove river last week with a mate and got some lizards. great fun!

i've fished there a few times on some of my trips to NT, and corroboree is a nice spot. Once you're on to a barra try to keep the line taught at all times. if your line is slack there is a greater chance of your lure being spat by a jumping barra.
those crocs are huge!

Mate if you take a walk on the wier early morning or in the afternoon you will see clouds of fish hanging around. Swarms of bream, blackfish, flathead, taylor and masses of mullet. Throw some bread around and you can really get the water boiling. At night time there is the constant splashing of mullet jumping.
I have actually considered getting a hand cast net and loading up on live mullet as prep for harbour jew fishing..however hand cast nets being illegal and all never got past the thinking stage.
can u fish there? i heard some parts are illegal

Hi All,
I've never fished dee why before and am reading the odd report of jew over the past 2 months. Where do you recommend the best spot on the beach to target these species from the shore.

Hi All,
I am considering trying the road bridge this friday night. I will be land based. Has anyone caught jew at this spot, being land based? If not, do u suggest any other land based spots in the area.
Cheers.

Hi All,
In the next few months I will be looking to buy my first boat. Due to my budget, it will be second hand. I have seen pictures on the web (trading post) of the Quintrex Fishabout MkII 4.2m and think they look good and would suit my needs. How old are these boats?
I'd imagine most of my fishing would be done inshore and i like the idea of having the windscreen and front steering. The hull must be aluminium. The engine would need to be in good condition but i don't mind about speed/power.
What are your thoughts on these boats? What would u recommend? My budget would be anything up to $6000. I thought i would get a list of your recommendations so that i know what to look for when it's time to purchase.
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

What bait do u recommend and what species could i expect to catch? Are there any good spots for jew? Any tips on location etc would be great. We'd be fishing late afternoon and in to the night.

i spent about 6 to 8 hours fishing from epping road, near the power station, and up towards linley point with a mate and we got nothing except a small tailor on lures. We tried bait and all sorts of lures and trekked through the bush track.
