Went out fishing landbased at the Georges this morning.
The current was insane! Packed up after 1 hour. Only managed to hook 1 decent bream (C&A) and that was it for the day.
Also got snagged 3 times. The end. -
Congrats mate!

Ive fished fitzpatrick park many times. Its not too bad at times but Im not a fan of the thick seaweed that is clumped along the banks of fitzpatrick
Nearly every time you reel your line the weed seems to smother your tackle. -
I use the clear cylinder bait trap which opens at both ends when i go to the Georges. Put some bread inside and stand back. Don't spook them and within 20 minutes you will have some. Only about $20 from tackle stores. By the way looking at your profile i don't believe that you are 1 year old LOL
Trust me I am! hahaha
No probs.. ill invest in a bait trap.

Update:
Just came back from Chippo with a few nibbles here and there on chicken breast. No fish landed fish landed though.
As for flicking with the SP not a single nibble. Ah well, all in good fun.Hey mate im a coastie so no idea of the area but good job hooking a mullet then sending it bsck out to upgrade. My only point is next time hook the tailor back up as a livie. Ive never caught a jew but from alot of articles that i have read live tailor or even fresh tailor heads in a fantastic mulloway bait.
Good luck
Sent from my SM-G900I using TapatalkCheers mate. I think ill stick with catching mullet for bait early in the morning and sending them out at night. I recently purchased an aerator so hopefully they make it through the night.
Catching mullet was pretty difficult though. I was using a small hook with flour and bread crumbs mixed up for bait. They just seem to swim up to it nab at it for a second then leave or sometimes not even touch it. They seem to enjoy attacking the float more since it had a white base lol. The only way I could get them to actually take a decent bite at it is if i sort of slow reeled the line in and make them chase it.
I spoke to a guy there and he told me that its because the dough is too hard and balled up? The mullets prefer to take it if you sort of fray the dough in strands so that its easier for them to take? Who knows.
At this point, I gave up. Pretty happy with the tailor so yeah. Not always but in alot of cases
cases...
BIG fish = time and patience
Good that your live got smacked...
HarryCheers buddy.
I've caught some decent bream there. Search Picnic Point holiday fun. There is also plenty of you tube videos fishing at picnic point for all kinds of fish including Jews. As for Deep Water park i wouldn't even go there in daylight some really strange creatures in that nack of the
woods.Watched a couple of videos. Very useful.
Thanks man -
I wouldn't be eating from that far up anyway mate
I've fished the area a few times, everyone always tells me about jews being around there, but I'll be damned if I've ever seen one caught.
Off the boardwalk casting past the red marker into the middle of the channel is apparently a good spot.
Also off Revesby beach, people climb all over the rocks on the left hand side to throw a line out!
There's also Deepwater which people have told me is the pick of the area, but I'd be pretty careful about going near there at night time
Also heard fishing under the newbridge road bridge behind the pilons is a hot spot too, shitty area but good fishing - careful of the bottom as you're likely to get a shopping trolley snag.
The whole area is relatively flat and featureless, theres really nothing in that stretch to hold the fish - the fish that are around there are usually passing through to get to somewhere more interesting
Thanks mate, much appreciated.
Ill think ill stay away from deepwater park lol
Ive tried revesby beach. Heaps of success in that particular spot pretty much plenty of undersized breams and the odd occasional flathead.
Off to chippo I go. Im going to try flick some plastics since i have no bait I have had absolute zero success when flicking plastics but who knows. Ill keep you guys updated.
BTW GO THE BLUE AND WHITE ARMY!!!!!

Hey guys,
was fishing picnic point land based in the early morning, saw a school of mullet swimming infront of me so i decided to rig up a float. I manage to land 1 then off it went out on the bigger rod in hope for my 1st jewfish, but instead landed a 36cm tailor which is the biggest tailor ive landed in picnic point (C&R). Mind you this is the first time ive ever caught a livie and sent it out as bait, so im pretty stoked that i landed something decent on it.
Just wondering have any of you guys landed a jewfish or fished from a land based in the picnic point area /lambeth/fitzpatrick/kelso etc and how did you guys go ?
Ive been basing my fishing there lately as its close by. All fish are C&R as I dont eat fish. I just like fishing haha.
Using a float at night

Hi, has anyone had success with using a float at night with a glowstick attached to it?
Im thinking of using it but people have told me its usually more for small bait fish.
I want to try it out but im not after small fish.
