  1. Unfortunatly you will not get a hobie kayak for that sort of money, the peddle maganism is just $700 by itself not including the kayak.

I had a mini-x with all the hatches included they are great kayaks very stable ,well worth the money . They are a SOT kayak with plenty of storage

  2. thanks for the heads up fisholb i hear the fustration it happened to me too, as my vehicle was only a week old tho it didnt happen there.

the lowlife B*****Ds did plenty of damage to mine cost damage was in the $3,500 mark & left blood stains all over the interior.

Hopefully these thugs get caught & do some time in jail

  3. using a warm chamoi & wiping the reel down & getting into nicks & crannies is the best method i have reels that are close to yrs 10 old with original bearings never had an issue with them .

When i worked in a tackle shop , had sold plenty of reels, tho had customers come back within the week ,complaining that the reel is making funny noises.

The first thing i say to them how did you wash it ? under a tap or hosed them down.

Unfortunately no matter how you tighten the drag even a drop of water can get into the body .

in my opinion no reel is water proof

  4. sorry to hear about that i feel for ya , it happened to me as well on the Nepean ,but i was fortune enough that the thief got caught in the act by the police,

But yeah it really puts you off it sucks . Now days i get dropped off just for a piece of mind

  5. you will come across surface activity but it will be alot of casting, go for the shade watch the wind see which way its blowing the insects across the surface. hope this helps

Have to agree i fish with surface during the day ,yes it is harder, but keep the lure longer in the strike zone & they will strike eventually

  6. I only ever lure fish for flatties and bream, so I really love the simplicity of yak fishing. Stuff all maintenance too!

It's great to be getting some exercise while fishing too. I just wish there was a way to make the hobie's go backwards !!!

i have a hobie too ,but have been yakking for 16yrs chasing bass bream & all other species, but my question is why do you need the hobie to go backwards its pointless

i fish where its very tight areas with the hobie revo or prangler & i just use the paddle to go backwards ,,but they are great versatile kayak

a very well thought of fishing rig

  7. Lumpookey

there are alot of proven soft plastics that catch jewies

The 4" pogys in gulp 100 - 130ml slick rigs in squigies

its a matter of buying & trying them out & see what works on the day
